Went back to NY this weekend for what was one of my busiest weekends yet. 1 wash (not pictured), 2 wash and waxes, 1 Exterior Detail, and 2 Ultimate Details (in/out). I did the first four Saturday and the 2 Ultimate's today.

First up - 2001 Mustang Cobra Convertible

Car was polished and Wolgang'd about a month ago. It's a garage queen (no rain, etc) so the Wolfgang was still very strong. I just wiped down the interior and vacuumed it. For the exterior:

-S+W

-Natty's Paste Wax

-Hyper Dressing on tires, wells, and convertible cover

Next up - 2001 PT Cruiser

Car was Klasse'd back in April. Klasse was dead on the surface. It stays out more than it should (garage spot, but not used much). My grandma took it for a week and it came back with horrendous water spots. I vacuumed the interior and wiped down the rest. For the exterior:

-Mother's Gold Wash

-Spot Clayed with the Wolfgang

-#80 via Rotary and LC Polishing Pad @1500rpm

-EX-P by hand

-Hyper Dressing on plastic trim, wells, and tires

Next up - 2003 Cadillac CTS

Polished about 3 months ago and Klasse'd, then 1 coat of WG and TS. WG and TS was definately gone, but Klasse was still in tact. I didn't have much time so I vaccumed and wiped down the interior. Exterior got a wash, coat of Natty's, and Hyper Dressing for tires, wells, lower valance trim.

Herby and Lasha's Cousins next :lol

Here's the deal with Herby and Lasha's Cousins. I did 2 Jetta's today that belonged to boyfriend and girlfriend. They park them side by side and toward the end of my day working I was in a slight daze and I was thinking of Herby the Love Bug and how he found his girlfriend Lasha. Well, these are their cousins ( I know I'm losing my mind )

Next up - 2004 Jetta GLI Special Edition

All I have to say is this is one hot VW. 18" BBS Rims, oversized brakes, stiffer suspension, aero kit, recaro seats, smoked light, etc.

Car had very light swirling on it and was relatively clean.

Interior got vaccumed, APC+/Oxy on Carpets/Mats/Seats, Water:Woolite on doors and dash, Hyper Dressing to protect.

Exterior receieved:

-Mother's Gold Wash

-Wolfgang Clay

-Menzerna Final Polish via rotary and LC Polishing Pad @ 1500rpm

-EX-P by hand

-Hyper Dressing on tires, wells, and plastic trim

-Mother's Metal polish on exhaust tip

Girlfriend is next :)

The girlfriend's car was a different story condition wise.

She bought it used from someone who didn't take very good care of it...Why do the neglectors always buy black?

Anyways for interior got vaccumed, APC+/Oxy on Carpets/Mats/Seats, Water:Woolite on doors and dash, Hyper Dressing to protect.

Exterior was a hell hole. It was very dirty, moderately swirled and had a ton of scratches where some where compounded out with 600grit rubbing compound :nixweiss . The clay picked up a ton of crap too. Final processes were:

-Mother's Gold Wash

-Wolfgang Clay

-#80 via Rotary and LC Polishing Pad @ 1500rpm

-Menzerna FP via rotary and LC Polishing Pad @ 1500 rpm

-EX-P by hand

-Hyper Dressing on tires, wells, and plastic trim

Lost my mind so I'm heading to bed ....Enjoy :D

nice details Sean! and :lol about Herby and Lasha's cousins! and i agree with you that the GLI Special Edition is one nice looking car. does it come that way?

Awesome job on the black Jetta! :bow

And as usual, great job on the others cars. :xyxthumbs

Great work as always....at least what I have seen so far. Dang dial up! I have to be at home for them to switch me to broadband too. Real fun trying to schedule on rain days with how horrible forecasts are around here.

Anyway, looks like #80 did a nice job on the waterspots on the PT. Another option is to add a pint or so of vinegar to your QEW bucket. Your hands will stink but it works great.

Oh well, I'll submit this and hopefully the rest of the pics will load before it times out again!

holy smokes,

the black jetta looks awesome!!! (im partial to black see avatar and sig) great job on all of them. i really like the way the hyper dressing looks on the tires.

does the PT cruiser count as a wash and wax?? if so how much are you charging to do that. i lloked like a full detail minus carpet shampooing. thanks in advance, im trying to formulate a competitve price list.

great looking details. LIKE ALWAYS!! how long does it take you to a job like the black jetta? exterior and interior? thanks.

Vernon

As always, awesome work on all of the cars, especially on the Jetta GLI, that thing really shines! :up

First of all, thanks for the compliments :) . I got 9 hours of sleep last night and am sore in my triceps, hips, and legs. I still can't believe I wrote Herby and Lasha, but anyways :D

Scott: Had ZERO vinegar with me :( . They were definately etched though as after a single light pass you could see the minute crater in the paint.

I tried to make the pics small...They are all around 100kb each...You might just have to take a day off to get cable :)

JCrawford: The PT got a full interior job about a month ago. It counts as doing stuff around the house :lol ...it's my mothers.

tdekany: They were both working when I left :( . The father of the guy paid me...He wants me to do his Liberty and Dodge Dually Diesel pretty soon, so I guess he was happy :)

FWIW, I'm gonna give the guy a call today about winter rims for his car and see what they thought.

vdog: Gray Jetta - 4 hrs total...Black Jetta - 5 hrs total

jroc1212: Yeh, I haven't used #80 in a while but I figured I would give it a go again. I was very happy with the cutting it did. Very easy to use as well.

Sick Sick Sick!!! Nice once again:xyxthumbs

Glad to see you're using the FP now and then.

With all these people now wanting PO85RD, I have to order another case or so.:p

Damn that Black Jetta was one tired finish! The Power Gloss may have come in handy. I'm finding more and more use for IP. Works great for dirty chrome too. I finish all chrome with Flitz!

BTW, I have a container of Souveran paste that has your name on it! My neighbor dropped it off, even though I told them not to buy one and keep mine..They even dropped off the 1Z Perls!

Let me know if you getting low!:up

Regards,

Deanski

Thank you 1 Clean WS6 and Dino :)

Dino, the FP leaves an amazing shine. I am still working on the best way to use it with the littlest amout of residue.

I'm actually saving the remainder of my PowerGloss for a Jetta I'm doing tomorrow (it's goddamn Jetta week for me). This customer got stuck in a state of emergency in VT and had to shovel her car out...Well she took a steel shovel to the black finish. :(

I wanted to do a side by side with you with Souveran vs. Trade Secret...When are you near Hamden again?

Anytime you want me up there!

Shovel? Holy crap:eek: That one is really going to be a challange!

It may require Diamond Cut if it's that bad and a wool pad.

PG works well with wool BTW!!

FP works best once the pad is saturated, you go over sections then I switched pads to a dry pad to polish/buff-off and wipe off any remainder. I use a finish pad for final buff. You want to talk mirror shine? I also find that pads also make a difference. The LC seem OK, the new ones I have yet to try, but also like the SM Arnold "Cool-It" pads.

Hope all is going well in Hamden!

Deanski
