Business Forms

I've done a search and really haven't found a complete listing of what business forms are needed to run a detailing business. I'm starting to get more serious about doing cars, getting an increasing ammount of customers and want to go from doing things verbally to actually having a business-like setup.

Any advice from the other pros on the site would be greatly appreciated. I've already looked into insurance and I may be able to get a rider policy on my homeowner's to cover me, they're checking that out. Other than forms, I think I'm good to go.

If you get Quickbooks or ACCPAC accounting software most of the business forms are already incorporated into the software package (invoices, statements, sales receipts, etc....). You should have a good check in report and a quality control worksheet for after the detail. That would be a good start anyway.

Considering I already have a DTP/print shop background, I design my own. I will ask the printer to print the forms using NCR (carbonless) paper.

<<< is sensing a business opportunity :D

I've been toying with the check-in form someone posted here a while back, and think thats what I will use for the check in/out. As far as a quality control worksheet, what would this entail? Something like going pannel by pannel making sure all steps were done and satisfactory results (i.e. all swirls removed, deep wet gloss, etc.)? or something else?

My quality control checklist includes 3 areas: engine, interior and exterior. The points include things like: ashtrays emptied and detailed, all windows clean & streak free, trunk clean & vacuumed etc.... it just goes over all the things that should have been done during a detail. It doesn't really apply to me because I'm perfect ;) JK but it helps to keep employees missing things to a minimum. It also looks good to a customer that you take the time to check your work.
