Joe, have you run a search? There are a large number of threads about paint transfer removal, among other topics.

:welcome

Agreed. A search would turn up information on this. You may be able to remove the paint transfer with a moderate polish on the PC with a cutting pad. Follow up with a polishing pad.

A simple paint transfer can be as easy as a compound rub. But could easily move to some wet sanding-compounding-polish.

I think it would be quicker to machine-polish it off instead, rather than using clay.

Agreed, a "mild" polish with a PC is no more aggressive than the clay, to be honest. All you're accomplishing is passing the elbow-greased "grunt work" off to the machine instead of using your arm.

Try Meguiar's Scratch-X first by hand. If that doesn't do it, you will need to use a more aggressive SMR or Compound. Try it by hand first and if that doesn't do it you will need a PC and a polishing or cutting pad. But always start with the least aggressive approach first.

This used to happen to elderly family members all the time. As in, I had to do it at every wash

I took the transfers off with clay- quick, easy, and not aggressive at all.

I'm about to attempt this today on a friend's car from work. I was thinking the same thing: clay first, if that doesn't work go to the SSR and PC combo.

Clay and Sonus SFX-2 applied with a PC got this out for me:

That looks very similar to the job I did today, but mine was about 3 times the area complete with a nice dent on the guy's truck. Clay did nothing so I broke out the Propel yellow pad with SSR 2.5 on speed 5 on the PC. Gone.
