Buffer adapters

The MF towel is a wonderful product. Problem is I can't keep it soft just like I first opened it from the package. I use liquid Tide to wash it by hand and rinse excessively. Sometimes, I don't use Tide if they are not that dirty. Is washing with tap water the cause of the towels being not as soft and plush? Should I use distilled water to wash them? Thanks in advance. :)

I also have a question about MF towels. I used a couple of them when removing Gold Class wax. I wash my towels by hand. Well, I've washed one twice - really, really well. I also rinsed and rinsed. It feels fine, but when it dries, it feels like wax and still smells like Gold Class. Maybe these MF towels lock in too much?!

I find using ammonia works pretty well or Dawn. Both remove wax well. You may want to have the towels go through the rinse cycle twice to remove all of the ammonia or Dawn. You do not want that on your vehicle.

I wash mine in the washing machine - warm or hot wash, cool rinse, extra rinse. I use Cheer. Dry in the dryer with no fabric softener. They seem fine after several washes.

i got neatitems...CMA's...and so far their good...still fluffy after a mth or so....1 time the miracle one had some wax left on it and i had to use the dawn...but like waxman said...you really gotta get that off of their before using...i was paranoid so i washed it 3-4 times...:)

Sometimes you may need to let them have a second go in the rinse cycle. Liquid Cheer seems to work very well for me. Even after a second rinse, I sometimes rinse them by hand under running water. Sometimes I take 3 or 4 minutes per towel.

When its time to use them, I spray a few shots of quick detailer on the towel so that it doesn't drag as much and thus increase the chances of causing microswirls or scratches. Laters.

I found that if I hand wash and air dry the MF towels, they aren't as soft as when I put them in the washer and dry them on low heat, they come out soft as new:)

I Dawn in the washer, extra rinse, then line dry.

Right after you wax, wash your towels right away with dawn by hand, helps to break up the wax before it cures. :)

come from "Top of the Line" and all I ever do is wash them in the washing machine on regular with a liquid detergent and then dry them on a medium setting without fabric softner.

They are still like new and in fact seem to work better.

I decided to share some pics of the adapters i made just in case anyone else wanted to make them for themselves...

I have a makita, pc, and the flex DA, I have been wanting to make adapters for them so i could use all my accessories on what ever machine i wanted. What made me really to get off my arse and make them was i was cleaning some carpet in the house with the pc and a bristle brush attachment and I just didnt like how the brush performs on the pc. Really i dont use the pc for much other than applying sealant. But anyway I wanted to try the brush on the flex (and maybe the rotary) so i made the adapters...

here are some pics...
In order from left to right:
1. I bought this one! fits rotary backing plates on PC
2. fit rotary backing plates on Flex DA
3. PC accessories ( like my brushes) on Flex DA
4. PC accessories ( like my brushes) on Rotary
The sizes if anyone is interested is:
PC - 5/16-24 threads
Rotary - 5/8-11 threads
Flex - M8x1.25

Last pic - i was bored so i welded a head of a hex bolt inside the 5/8 bolt that would accept the same size (5mm) allen wrench as the original Flex bolt to tighten the adapter down.
