She'll Buff Out
Over the last few weeks i have started to wear some breathing protection(those doctor mask)at work while detailing. I only where them when washing or buffing. I didnt realize how much stuff i was breathing in ecspecially when buffing. Also when using really strong chemicals, it would start to burn my throat and lungs. Im positive it cant be good for you, i dont want health problems down the road. I rather look dumb lol.
I was wondering if anyone else wheres some type of breathing protection??
Iv gone to a couple local detail shops.1 out of 4 wear breathing protection. He's the one who gave me some masks.
I was looking at other posts and couldnt find anything on this, so thought i would see what you other detailers are doing for this.

That sounds like a smart idea, I was thinking about starting to wear a mask when buffing and dressing tires, some of these chemicals are very strong.

I'm not too concerned about the chemicals I come in contact with when I'm detailing, or at least not enough to wear a mask. I work with a lot worse stuff at work and even then, I'm not too worried about contact or inhalation with them. I just make sure I don't directly inhale anything if I don't have to.

We use wheel acid on some wheels and that is KILLER on the lungs. I have thought about getting some type of mask to wear many times, but never actually picked one up. I always joke with my boss saying, "You don't always die from wheel acid, sometimes you just loose a lung!" I think I have passed the point of looking stupid and will be picking up some masks myself sometime soon.

It seems like a good idea. I noticed after some Klasse use My throat feels extra "thick" if that makes sense. But those painters masks are kind of annoing. So I think I might pick up some of those paper masks. (Like that doctors use).
