Brand New Detailing Biz

We have just started a new detailing biz and I need the best way to market and get new customers. We have done several friends cars and they were thrilled. I know it's mostly word of mouth but what is the average amount of time I can expect to take to start making decent money?

I see people everyday with paint that could come back to life, I ussually show them some before after pics and there sold.

Look for an oxidized red take before and after pics, and amaze people for months off of one car :bigups

Your best bet is to start with some flyers. Low investment and usally a decent return. As for how much time before you start to make decent money depends on a few things. First being what you consider decent, if you plan to turn a $1000 a week profit in a month then you're fooling yourself but if you plan on making $200-$500 a week within your first quarter then you're on the right path and you'll be in good shape. Remember that you need to work your way up in the detailing field this may mean doing some cars you would prefer not to do, check with some small local car dealers you won't get great money but it should be steady which will help you build up your clientel. When you do these types of cars remember you're building your reputation so do your best regardless of the condition or price. Also make sure you place your card in the finished car this will help get private party work. In time you'll be able to move away from such work. Hope this info helps

Thanks Doug. This does help a lot. I think we are on the right path and in no way was I expecting to get rich quick~ We appear to be doing all the right things.
