brag? maybe not about this one...my winter ride!!

1992 Honda Accord LX

156k miles

5-spd

the dealer did a fantastic hologram installation on this one...beyond anything i have seen in person yet. the pics don't even do the hack job justice...but i can't be too picky considering what i was purchasing. :)

i was not able to remove many of the scratches even after multiple passes with the strongest products i have. i expected the paint to be softer than it was...but perhaps not ALL hondas are that soft. the rust spots in the rear quarter sections will take away the attention from the scratches. ;)

process:

--duragloss wash

--clay w/ gray sonus

--PB S&W wipedown

--many passes with everything i had to throw at it...OHC, SSR-3, 4* MCC, w/ orange, yellow, 4", 5", 5.5" pads...you name it. couldn't get everything to come out.

--sealed w/ 601/105 combo and 2 additional coats of 105 the next few days + AW

--RainX on windows

--Mothers Back to Black on side moulding (did an "ok" job...but the trim was super faded to begin with...)

--303 on all seals and remaining trim

--E1 Tire Shine on top of 303 for tires

Definite improvement! If you keep after it every few months, it'll only get better. :)

Nice 4th gen Accord, it should run practically forever-when I sold my 1990 Accord, it had 280,285 miles on it!

any tips on how to further restore the trim? some of the side molding is hideous...even after 303 and BTB...still very faded.

if i decide to keep this one until it dies...i'll need to get the rust repaired too...but that's beyond my powers. i'll have to find someone to do the patch work and then hopefully match the paint somehow.

the reason why i like honda's so much, they hold their re-sale value pretty well...

After 150K, they hold their resale value perfectly. lol You can put another 50K on it and sell it two years later for a couple hundred dollars less than you bought it for! LOL

Nice Accord, I'm thinking about sellin my new one and getting one like that...

This is a 92 Honda, how dare you!! - couldn't resist haha

Looks like you did a great job reviving the paint. Im sure its thest looking 92 on the block.

Vanilla Moose will work if it the trim isn't faded to the point it is cracked. Works great on the black plastic pillars. Use your favorite dressing for the plastic at the base of the doors.

Keep after it. Mine was washed regularly before I bought it but it had only been waxed twice in 5 years according to the owner. The engine responds very favorably to mods as well since it is pre-OBD.

Here are a few pics of mine that I could find.

Even with the somewhat messed up front end, hail damage on the hood and roof and all those miles, I still got $1400 cash for it. :)

That's beautiful work on your car. I found these 2 threads about trim products. Gonna give the AIO a try myself.
