Bought a new (used) car, interior needs some work ...

I just purchased a 2004 Lincoln navigator. The interior is a light cream color with silver color plastic pieces. The center console is silver plastic, and around the radio as well.

The plastic is pretty dirty, and could definitively use some cleaning to restore its true color.

I want to use a soft bristle toothbrush and scrub it, what should I use for a soap? Just a soft ivory soap? Any recommendations?

I would not use a toothbrush on plastic. All the plastic trim I've see is really soft and swirls easily. I'd use an APC at interior strength with a microfiber towel and keep taking the dirt down bit by bit being gentle with surface.

Agreed; just use an APC with a microfiber towel or if anything, a soft bristled brush like one of these:

Given that you're dealing with matte finished plastic I doubt you'd have a ton of issues with swirling, but you can still abrade the finish if you're not careful.

APC = All Purpose Cleaner, by the way. :)

One of my favorite trim cleaners is 1Z Einszett Plastic Deep Cleaner. But there are lots of suitable choices.
