Bodyshops Kill Me!

One of my clients with a black SL 500 rear-ended someone :( this was 2 days after he paid me for a $300 detail.

When I found out I warned him to let the body shop know that he is going to be very particular about the quality of the work, etc. and was going to suggest a body shop that I know does an "okay" job at finishing. He told me he already took it into a "special" place that only does mostly show cars and exotics.

As all yall could have predicted...he had to pay me to fix it, as it was bad. Real bad. Without exageration, there were massive buffer swirls everywhere on the hood and front fenders...a few "rogue" swirls ran AT LEAST as deep as 2500 wetsand marks - at least. They clearly used a twisted wool pad and probably let the product cake up in the pad...only way I can figure it is even possible to get buffer swirls that deep. I compounded with PG and and to repeat because some traces of their swirls still remained...now that's bad! In the end...PGx2, OC, OP, then quick pass with PC & 106FF.

How do they sleep at night?

Wow most body shops don't want there employees spending much time trying to perfect it...time is money get them in, get them out.
