Bodyshop safe products

I am a painter in a bodyshop where we have just hired a detailer. He is acustom to working in a dealership where silicone products didn't cause an issue but at our shop we have had some problems with paint fisheyes from certain products. I have found a descent safe wax but the dressing he uses for interiors seems like it may causeca headache in the paint booth. I am wondering if any of the pros here have any experience and recommendations for detailing in a bodyshop.

Jimmo, there's plenty of quality products out there that are specifically engineered for body shops (or body shop safe :)) so if you stick to those you shouldn't have any problems. Insta Finish have a wide selection of polishes, waxes, etc. that are all BSS. A keen, pro detailer will do lots of good for your business!

I use Wizards Products at our shops just b/c that it was a local rep. carries. That and we use 3M compounds/polishes. Never had a problem with anything from them. But I don't dress interiors anyways. They just get cleaned out (vacuumed and "APC'd"). Don't feel the need to dress interiors.

Exteriors: Meguiars Silicone Free Dressing

Interior/exterior: Meguiars Water Based Dressing

I also recommend their Super Degreaser and All Purpose Cleaner too.

What's up Jimmo!

Howdy Han, your getting me hooked on this site now!

Thanks for the advise guys. My current detailer is pretty thorough but awfully set on his ways. He couldn't polish swirl free to save his life but the rest of his work is really nice. It has been a great addition to our business and we give a complimentary detailing to each car that comes in for repairs which generates many return and referral customers.

I have him using presta bodyshop safe wax which seems to work well. The dressing I find does really compliment the interior and would be nice to let him keep using it but I don't want to take any chances. I'll have a look at some of the suggestions. Thanks.
