I just received a bottle of EF QD and it says on the label that its contains alcohol & Carnauba.

Will alcohol remove the carnauba wax on my car?

No. I used to think it would till the pros here set me straight. It is such a small amount, it is used more for fast evaporation without leaving smears or a film. Go ahead and use the Clear Pearl, it won't remove your carnauba wax. :up

So my friend is selling his 2 vehicles and wanted them detailed. So up first was the BMW X5, a 2001 I think. Sorry no sun shots it was cloudy. Finish was about 80-90%, swirls/oxidation gone, but i didn't have time to remove (or paid to) all defects, looks good for a 9 year old vehicle, that's all customer wanted.

I hit it with APC+ about 3 times and then the D180. Couldn't get it all, i think the buckle hid some of it. I have no clue what it was.

Yeah I'm working on the same customer's van now, pretty hammered inside, got the carpets done, APC+ came through again, I haven't found a better carpet cleaner yet.

Wow! That thing was pretty trashed! Nice work Indy!

Did you try anything on the side pillars/trim? They have a weird finish on them...not sure what it is either???

Using at 10:1 for the carpet and leather?

Thanks for the comments, it was some tough work.

Yep 10:1 on carpets and leather. The leather I followed up with the D180. I need to get a 3rd bottle to use (currently have 4:1 and 10:1) and do a little stronger (7 or 8:1) for the tough stains.

The side pillars are gettig some sort of sticker put on them by the owner. The clear or existing sticker is shot, i tried some back to black to see if it would do anything, but it just made them look worse. I didn't want to try polishing them and have it really mess up the surface. The owner said not to worry about it, but being how I am, I had to try something.

Right on. ;)

I noticed when I polished them that there was pigment transfer to the pad. Seems like an anodized coating or something...maybe some BMW owners came comment on them though.

Indy,

Great job on that X5. I am not quite sure how someone can buy a BMW and then trash it like that. That's why the world needs people like you to take care of it.

I have a BMW, and have had great success using P21S Paintwork Cleansing Lotion on the pillars.

Keep up the good work.
