BMW Convertible Help

Ace Of Spades

Hi. Detailing my first BMW convertible tomorrow. The owner specifically requested that the convertible top be waterproofed as recommended by BMW. I've never done that before and I was wondering what product to use for this. The top is fabric by the way. Need some help pretty quick so I can pick up the product today and be ready for tomorrow. Thanx.

I have used the convertible top waterproofing sold at the BMW dealership with great results. I am sure there are other products that work just as well but I bought this stuff a few years ago and a little goes a long way.

Before you waterproof the roof make sure it clean and dry.

I like to use my extractor on convertable cloth roofs with plain water. This normally cleans them up perfectly.

KIWI sells a spray-on "Rain & Stain Guard" available at almost any shoe store and many grocery stores. I've used it many times on Audi and Porsche cloth tops with great results. Be sure to check for colorfastness in an unseen area first, for sometimes it may darken the cloths color.
