BMW 750, Ford F250, S10 Blazer

2005 Ford F-250. Mid winter wax job, any polishing (still looks very good considering last polishing was in March '06) will wait until spring since he drives this when the weather is crap instead of his Cayenne. Just my 80/20 blend of Meguiars #16 and FK's Pink Wax.

2006 BMW 750Li. Pretty much the same deal, mid winter touch up. Last waxed with Optimum Poli-Seal in early October, still beading, still looked good but slickness had fallen off, although no drag with a towel. I do wash this one conventionally, and it is parked at his house under a carport. Not sure why he doesn't have a real garage. Anyway, 3 full months from a one step is pretty decent...and I didn't use quite as much as I normally do now when I did this 750 the last time because I was almost out. Not sure if a little more product would make a difference.



He had some water spots on the hood and trunk lid, so I used Poli-Seal again, via white LC polishing pad and topped with Optimum Car Wax. I think it came out really deep and wet.



Also note-this car is 18 months old and has NEVER been deep polished. Good washing techniques really make a difference! It has just a hint of spider swirls on a few areas.

1998 Chevy S10 Blazer. Did this one yesterday, on a balmy 31 degree day. Not quite enough room in their garage to clean both the back and front end with the garage door down, plus even though the lighting was decent, the interior needed some deep cleaning so I had to leave the door up to get as much light as possible on the interior. I ended up detailing the interior, then washing, polishing and sealing the tailgate and then closed the garage door to do the rest of the exterior...and it really wasn't all that warm even then. My wheel brushes and wax pad were near the garage door while I was polishing and waxing and the bristles and wash pad all froze up. :nervous2:



By the time I finished it up, it was after 5 pm and cloudy so it was really too dark to get quality interior shots. The exterior was polished with Optimum Compound using green Cyclo polishing pads, Optimum Poli-Seal using a white LC polishing pad and Optimum Car Wax by hand. As you can tell, lighting was less than optimal, plus I was cold and just wanted to go home at that point so I apologize in advance for the picture quality.

Oh yeah, look what it did today, the day after I detailed that Blazer....



Took these at River Legacy Park in Arlington. I should have brought an extra roll with me because after I took the 3rd one, about 50 feet away, I saw a bobcat with a fresh kill. He looked at me and slowly walked around a log. I got a pic with my cell phone but you can't see crap. By the time I made it back to my car and got another roll, he was on the other side of a river bank, saw me and took off before I could get a clear pic.

Great job on all those cars. I just ordered some Poli-seal today and was wondering which pads u use with it on the Cyclo. I have LC and Cyclo pads in different colors. Do u like Poli-seal with the Cyclo, or do you prefer the PC?

Looks like you have more snow than we do here, right now it's raining and about 42F, has been like this since November.

Am I right in noticing that you've been using more OCW lately? I would guess it's to see how it will prolong the durability of Poli-seal.

I use the white Cyclo pads with Poli-Seal. You just have to be careful to not use too much product or it tends to lay down a thick patch that is tough to remove until it dries completely. The PC and white LC polishing pads seem to work perfect with Poli-Seal so I don't use it much anymore with the Cyclo.



Zet-Believe me, I was shivering a lot more! Plus when I was scrubbing the carpets, I ran my right hand ring finger into the metal seat track at full force at the base of the cuticle. :nervous2: Not my best day by a long shot. :(



Honestly, the reason I have been using OCW over Poli-Seal is because I love the increase in depth it adds. Any durability gains would be a side benefit!
 
That 750 is beautiful Scott and you are 100% spot on about the benefits of solid washing technique!!
