So besides being impressed, give us some feedback on this stuff. It's a product I've been eyeing. How easy is it to use? How does it rate, gloss/depth/wetness wise against other products you've used?
I've used BWW for a few months now, and I'd have to say it's a bit of a mixed bag. Here are the pros and cons I've found:
Pros:
1. Price. $30/gal? Compared to P21S at ~$30 for a little jar? The price is right.
2. It doesn't stain rubber or plastic. (I won't use any product that does.)
3. No dust during removal.
4. Looks as good as any other product I've used in one coat. Very deep, clear results, with better than average clarity for a wax. About equal to Zaino, better than P21S.
5. Very slippery buffed finish.
6. Easy to get out of cracks and seams. Doesn't leave white residue you find days later, like P21S.
7. Smells good. Usable in a closed garage.
8. While BWW does cure overnight, it's dry to the touch after buffing. So many carnaubas aren't. I can tell it's curing from the odor in the garage, that goes away after 24hrs.
9. Oh yeah, nicely fills light swirl marks. Better than P21S, much, much better than Zaino. I don't need to polish as often.
Cons:
1. Takes some effort to spread thinly; more than, say, P21S, which is the easiest to apply wax I've ever used. I use one of CG's black foam pads, which seem to work fine. Griots white foam pads wouldn't spread BWW thinly.
2. If you don't spread it thinly it takes more than average effort to remove. Not bad, but not in the top tier unless you spread thinly and evenly. I find letting it haze works best, which takes several minutes.
3. Pads don't clean up with water; you need a degreaser. I really dislike that aspect of BWW. I put the pad in a zip lock plastic bag between uses.
4. Compared to Zaino it doesn't last all that long; I'd say about 3 washes.
Overall, Butter Wet Wax is a winner for me, but I can see where it might not be for everyone. I wax at least monthly, so the lack of durability doesn't bother me all that much. The lack of dust and high slipperiness factor make buffing a nice experience. (I use MF for initial removal and DF cotton towels for the final buff.) The result looks as good as *anything* I've ever used. My workhorse wax until I find something better.
