Well steve let me take the day off today to do some Blue fish fishing with my grandfather:yay . This is the first time that i have gone fishing for these guys. They bight hard and then put up a great fight:passout: . I hooked 2 fish like the one i'm holding, one that i had until it hit the surface and jumped out of the water and the hook fell out, and 2 bunker fish (bait fish) that i later used as bait . Here are the pics.

Just reeled up and put on the boat

Nice fish.

I've gone out for Blues on many a night, and they do put up a good fight. Wait till you get one of the bigger ones on the line, you think you're pulling up Moby Dick.

Also be realllllll careful those blues have some nasty teeth in them.

Nice fish indeed. I've done all types of fishing but am a bit impartial towards it. I don't like it enough to go out and buy a boat and all the gear, but I don't dislike it to the point of never going or being bored while fishing.

It was hard enought pulling that one up :lol2: i could only imagine what a big one can do but would sure like to go out again and find out :yay.

Yea i was feeling the teeth when we got back and OMG were they razor sharp. I mean just look what it did to that poor bait fish. :eek:

Never been Blue Fishing...We don't have those in the Gulf of Mexico...But I love to fish, (Spearfishing actually; hogfish, grouper etc..:cool: ) I'm out at least 3 times per month. The Trout are biting big time right now on the hook. Its about the only fish I can keep anymore on a boat (FWC regulations; gotta love em):)
 
One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish.

Suntan lotion is a good thing. It won't do anything for poison ivy though. :)
 
I just went out on a fishing boat out of Captree Island called "Laura Lee" I think it is by Jones Beach last night, 2 guys caught some pretty big blue fish and I caught ended up catching a lot of smaller porgy and some other fish, but I caught a 21" flounder which I was pretty happy with. I actually caught one that was 18" also but it was too small by 1".
 
You guys are fortunate to have those fish out there for you guys to fish. Looks like a lot of fun but us here in the west coast wont get any blue action unless we travel there. We get a lot of sharks and bat ray action here though. Only takes me 3 minutes to get to the bay for them. Speaking of sunburns, I got on last sunday and it just now started to peel. Its some wicked stuff. Haha.
