Blitz vs. Meguiars #26

I have been reviewing these two waxes quite a bit lately and I am trying to decide what wax to buy next for my car. I am currently using Meguairs Gold Class and while I think it leaves amazing shine on black paint, it simply gives off way too much dust and doesnt last for a poop, probably 2-3 weeks. This this day, I have not heard one negative thing about One Grand Blitz wax and I have also heard #26 is good and lasts much longer than the Gold Class. Any inputs? Thanks

Blitz will provide a harder, more durable finish than #26. I like the shine better myself as well. It does have a tendency to be a dust magnet, but most carnubas do.

I've used both on black, and Gold Class outshines the Blitz hands down. If you want durability (especially in summer climate) you're better off going with a sealant (Klasse, Zaino, etc).

If you dont mind waxing often, then I'd say stick with the Gold Class. Blitz will only buy you another couple weeks, and will give you less shine overall.

I haven't tried Blitz, but IMO, #26 outshines and outlasts Gold Class, especially the next day. Funny thing how carnuba based waxes tend to shine even more a day or two after you use them.

$ for $, I don't think you can beat the BLITZ. Wonderful shine, easy to use (unlike the #26) and good longevity for a "pure" carnauba product.

I never could warm up to the #26...found it WAY too hard to use.

Others have found good results using #20 + #26 but I don't recall in what order.

I still have to say my no-nonsense favorite is: Klasse AIO > Klasse SG > Blitz. That one is tough to beat and offers excellent durability thru an entire season.

I use all three you mentioned and I agree with what was said MGC gives off way to much dust and only lasts 3-4 weeks, but it gives a deep dark shine on black cars. BLITZ is the better of the waxes and lasts longer but still gives of white dust. On my car the shine between BLITZ and MGC is different but BLITZ does last longer!!!!!! NOT TO MENTION EASY ON AND OFF

I have used both Blitz and #26.

Both are excellent and I really can't tell a difference once applied.

Blitz is easy to put on and extremely easy to buff off.

I have found #26 to be difficult to buff off at times.

If you are getting lots of dust you are possibly putting on too much wax and hence waasting valuable product.

Blitz should be used sparingly as the instructions indicate.

When it comes down to the best .....well...I use the Blitz on the bimmer and #26 on my wifes truck...nuff said?

I have also used both, and even though I use Zaino now, I preferred Blitz over #26. I still have both of them in my garage though.

I just tried this last Thursday. I used #26 on the hood, roof and trunk of a friends car and was having trouble removing it. I switched over to BLITZ and was like , "AHHHH..."

Much, much easier to buff out than #26.

Blitz is my "go to" wax. I have Souveran, but can't justify using it on anything other than my own car. Blitz is a bargain for what it does.

Blitz is for sure better than any of the Meguiar's line.

Here's an interesting tid bit: Did you know that NAPA actually makes most all of Meguiar's waxes? Ever look at the MSDS for the #26 wax? You should, it's loaded with stuff I wouldn't want to use frequently on paint...and it's harmful to your health as well...just a friendly FYI...

Just curious...where did you get this information from? I have been using Meguiars products for 8 years now in my detailing business and even on cars that I have been using #26 on for 5-6 years now still look great. Besides, Meguiars surface prep products (Mirror Glaze and Body Shop Pro) are second to none.

I believe they do make their own Mirror Glaze polishes and BSP line, so I'm not gonna argue with that one, they do make nice polishes...

I am mainly referring to the #7, #20, Medallion, and their cleaner/wax being made by NAPA, and the #26 containing harmful chemicals....and to think I used to actually like these years ago... Oh well, it's all in the past...

Blitz is good, but some of you are exagerating how much better it is than #26. The paste wax #26 can be hard to buff off, but the liquid #26 wipes off very easily. Both the paste and liquid wax have almost identical (if not the exact same) shine as Blitz. Both also attract dust, but the #26 attracts less. Cost is less for the #26, and it is easier to find locally. I have used #26 on top of Klasse, and I must say, it looks NICE (and so does Blitz on top of Klasse). My new favorite, however, is Gold Class on top of Klasse. I tried this a couple weeks ago. I had 3 or 4 layers of SG, then I topped it with Meguiar's Gold Class (liquid), and the car looks great even now. It has the sharp, deep, dark shine of Gold Class and the protection of Klasse. This looks especially great on a black car.

I just waxed half my car today with Meguiar's #26 (liquid form) and found that it's extremely easy product to apply thin coats and buffing was very easy too. Pretty decent product, IMO....but it didn't "wow" me the way Blitz did. Blitz provided a far better shine.

On the other hand, the Meguiar's wax is much easier to work with....probably due in part to the fact that I was using the liquid form. Buffing the hazed product took no effort at all and I didn't get any powdery residue, which is in stark contrast to the huge amounts of powdery residue I was getting with Blitz.

Sorry but no way is Meg #26 as good as Blitz...I used both liquid and paste..The liquid is a lot easier to apply/remove and gives a good shine but not like Blitz! Blitz lasts longer also..at least for me. They both attract dust but Blitz is better..IMO

Do you have a medical degree? Do you have any other information that backs up the assertion that this Meguiar's product is "harmful to your health"? I'd like to see research. Testing.

The implication, of course, is that Zaino is not "harmful to your health", correct? Come on. Zaino is made of chemicals too. I'm sure that if you looked at the Zaino MSDS, you'd discover that it is made of chemicals too, not just berries and tree leaves.

You also state that you wouldn't want to use Meguiar's #26 "frequently on my paint." Well, I'm SURE that Meguiar's has tested their products to ensure that they are not harmful to your car's paint. They are in the business of making waxes for auto paint, after all. The purpose of wax is to protect paint. If Meguiar's waxes actually harmed paint, instead of protecting it, that would sort of defeat the purpose, wouldn't it? I am sure that Meguiar's is not that stupid.

Dude,

I agree with your comments but I think it is best to ignore the comments rather than turning the useful thread into a flame war (which it looks like it may be heading).

Let's just keep it on topic.

Cheers

Have not tried #26 but just about everything else.

If you do compare the two try to get the 3 components of the

Blitz system :

Omega Glaze + Blitz + Show Off - about a $40. investment.

These 3 will give you the proper One Grand presentation.

First application is medium tough but all subsequent layers

go on and buff off very sweet.

Blitz takes four days to cure so don't base your results

at day one.

The #26 was always a #)*%^* to remove for me. I had a man and his wife who owned 4 Vettes. They ensisted on the #26, it always took me twice as long to do their vehicles...(if I was lucky)

Four day curing period for Blitz??????
