Blackfire review

I'm almost done with my spring detail and used Blackfire's new Wet Diamond Sealant and I have to say that I'm very impressed. By far the wettest looking sealant I've ever used (remeber I'm still a NB).

Process:
Washed using PB S/S
Clayed using Optima clay bar
Dried with Exceldetail blue WW towel
Swirl removal with SSR 2.5 applied with Exceldetail orange pad
Polish/Glaze VM applied with LC white polishing pad
Sealant New Blackfire wet Diamond Seanlant applied with foam pad
Detail was done outside and in direct sun light.

I'm only going to comment on the Blackfire, just about everyone here has tried the other products I used and there are plenty of reviews for them but if anyone has a question on the other products I'll be glad to answer.

First of all I have to say that nothing I've tried to date spread as well as BF, a nickel size drop was more than enought to do my entire hood plus both front fenders. I waited until BF hazed a bit and then remove with PakShak white Ultra Fine Towels. Removal was amazingly easy. The product came right off with no dusting. The results was a very deep, wet look. I oringinally believed that BF looked like CMW but after a while I noticed that BF gave a much wetter, darker, and deeper look. At $27.00 and considering how far this product spread I feel it's a great deal. Very easy to use and IMHO one of the best looks I've ever seen on black. I'm looking forward to hear comment from the real pros here.

And Yes, I know, my Kia has the worst case of OP I've ever seen!

JeffW, No I've never tried FMJ so I an't really compare. I will say that I've tried several sealants and waxes (have about 28) and nonehave spread as far as Blackfire did. Audiboy and Greg, thanks for the thumbs up.

I find BF spread easier and buff off easier than FMJ :) .

Raven - Forgot to mention it earlier - Greet job!

Gen2 - WOW! I've helped a friend who uses FMJ and IMO it spreads and removes much easier than (most of?) the other popular ones we talk about on the boards. I've been intrigued with BF, and these recent postings are tempting me... :D

Have you tried FMJ before, and if so, can you compare how well BF spread relative to FMJ?

Thanks!

The new BF sealer is similar to FMJ in application/removal.

What's different is that you don't get any haze, blotching, and the horrible dust attraction vs. the original BF mix.

Wet Diamond also fills in the minor stuff (similar to Z5).

After using Z for a few months, I'm still not switching brands any time soon.

I haven't had enough time to evaluate the slickness retention, durability, etc.. on the BF sealer either -but at first glance it's a very nice product.

So far, so good. The new BF mix just knocked UPP off my shelf (but I'm still using Z on my rides).

So far, so good. Wet Diamond will likely replace UPP on my shelf -and if it's durable I'm going to bag 218/2180 too.

IMO, it looks better than Z on paint, but I'm not planing to replace Z (for my rides) any time soon.

Z is still King of the Hill -all things considered, but the new BF is definitely chasing it down!

Just went out and took a long look at BF after 20 hrs of cure time and have to say that I'm still very happy, it looks a little deeper than I remember from yesterday and seems to have a bit of a shimmer.

As of now BF is my favorite sealant replacing 2180 and CMW. I still have a love for waxes like PS, TS and NB and will conitnue using them.

I'm not overly concerned about durability since I'm never been able to hold out for more than a week or two before re-waxing/sealant.

MY plan is too add another layer of Blackfire and then, within a couple of weeks, top it with PS and see how it looks.

When I mentioned BF is easier to use than FMJ, it is actually quite marginal, so do not expect a very great difference :D .

From what I understand on various forums that I've read, the BlackFire yields a more "wet/deep" shine and the FMJ yields a more "crisp /clear" shine....both seem to be great products that work similar and are very much alike with slight differences in their shines.

Bottom line, I think that Menzerna and BlackFire both seem like high quality products.

I heard that the new Blackfire is very similar to Wolfgang. Can anyone offer any insight on that comparison?

I also have been looking at the Blackfire. I would like to see how it compares to the Wolfgang. I hear the Wolfgang is excellent also.

Ha, that's exactly what I have been wondering... both leave a similiar deep carnauba-like finish, both only require a 12 hours cure time (whereas all(?) the others require 24 hours). I'm not as knowledged as many others on these boards, but, I can't recall any other products pure sealants that have either of these 2 chacteristics.
