Black Wow and Ultima Trim

I'm always on the lookout for a great trim product that makes trim black and has decent durability.

I don't have the new reformulated Z16, but sofar Z16 has been my go to product. A bit too much sheen but it's a decent balance on longevity and product shine. Bearing it's WB....I just wish it was had more of a product life..

Black Wow and Ultima Trim has been out for awhile now.

Love to hear some long term feedback for those who has used either and how it is holding up.

Believe it or not, I use Tire Shine (Meguiar's Endurance) for my trim. Seems to last a good while! I would be interested in hearing about those two products as well though.

Ultima Tire and Trim holds up very well. I used it on the plastic bumpers and mirrors of a

Silverado 2500HD I wash weekly. It sits outside 24/7 and the front end is under a live oak so the truck is always caked in sap. It was week 6 before Ultima was showing any sign of losing its appearance.

I just received my Ultima TTS and have used it once. I think 2-3 coats looks great. The product is very messy though, which is probably more my fault that the products. I tried to wash the applicator after it's use. This stuff is very hydrophobic, which is probably the reason it last so long. There's no way that applicator is coming clean.

So far, Ultima wins hands down in terms of appearance. I can't comment on longevity though.

Reminds me of my Autoglym Bumper Trim . That stuff was very oily/waxy as hell and would not get off my applicator after numerous washing/apc/hot soak.

Has anyone used both? It seems like Black Wow is a little better at bringing old trim back to life, with good cleaning...while UTT seems to offer more protection? Thats the impression I get from reading...

Any side-by-side tests?

I am on week 12 of Ultima Interior and Exterior trim guards. Both have held up very well. I was checking the exterior out today. Starting to show some wear but I expect it to be a real asset the next two months of winter. I expect after that, it will need a full clean and reapply. Everything will.

pakshak.com now sells black wow. Got to see it in action today and i have to say it is some pretty amazing stuff. It really restores the trim to a nice black shine. Dont know about durability though, but i hear its supposed to last a while.

I currently have black wow, and I ordered Ultima TTS about a week ago so should see it soon being the holidays UPS is a bit overloaded.

the car I used black wow on I sold, I basically bought it for that reason, to make the trim look good at least long enough to sell it. it was a 1997 Civic and had black hard trim on spots, that car sat outside its entire life so things were faded as most would imagine. Black wow brought new life into them. while it has its quirks it lasted longer than other items I tried. I got some application tips after I applied it that probably would have made it last longer.

I am not sure what I can do a head-to-head of the products with. my CR-V has some blackish bumpers and trim pieces that might be fitting for a comparison.

I will see what I can do, I guess I will have to swipe some black wow on my CR-V trim and see if it enhances it any. it might not be enough for pictures. plus I have to wait for the Ultima. but I will try to get some head-to-head action.

now if someone has some terrible trim in Central Indiana and wants to use there car as an additional test subject with the 2 products PM me
