I started to work on a neglected 2002 toyota 4runner. I washed/iron cut/clayed it prior to starting a ton of contaminants were removed. As soon as I started polishing the pads started turning black. At first I thought maybe I knocked some of the tape off the trim, I changed the pad, but that wasn't the case. The truck is in pretty bad shape but I don't think its lacking a clear coat nor do I think that I burned through it in a few passes with the DA. This is the first Toyota I've worked on, I've worked on Hondas and BMWs and didn't have anything like this happen. Using a Flex XC 3401 DA with Optimum products.
