This was about ten hours of work, very poor condition. The process was wash, clay, cutting pad OHC via PC X 2, wet sand bad areas, polishing pad OP X 2, finishing pad RMG, WG DGPS, clean glass and dress wheels.

WoW! Amazing turnaround. I noticed immediatly in the first befores how hacked the paint is from holograms, swirls, oxidation, and haze. Great Job perfecting it!

Greg

Thanks guys.

CDTGaticaW201- thats some wet sanding, I was getting rid of some bad scratches.

01bluecls- The Hitachi should be here next week :getdown

GregCavi- yeah the paint was in pretty bad shape.

Great documentation (the pics of the half-polished sections were intriguing).

Great Save! I hope the owner takes care of it.

Stunning work!!!

It's funny. With many other vehicles, those swirls would've laughed at OHC. For some reason, Optimum Polishes respond EXTREMELY well to MB paint. I think the combo is a match made in heaven...These results prove no different.

Ah, gotcha. :o

For a minute there I thought the owner had a really bad tendency to lean over his car or let things rub up against it. That must've been some serious ish to merit the wetsand.

Thanks again guys.

amjf088 - he just bought the car and is going to sell it.

35TH LE - Yes he was very pleased to say the least.

mr.ikon - I charged him $360.00

G35stilez - Yes I agree Sean it's a great combo. I tried adding a little SSR 3 to OHC at times and it does add some bite, but OHC with a cutting pad or orange pad works very well. The trunk was just OHC then OP and it was probably the worst.

Wow!!! I had not realised how good OHC would be by pc. I stoped at OC when I made my polish/compound purchases. Should I invest in OHC or will I be able to get away with OC with an orange pad?

Yes you should invest in OHC if you need to do major correction work. I would also get SSR 3 because with some paint you will need it. These are aggressive compounds and should only be used on paint like the 500 SL here or to remove scratches. For scratch removal I use the 4" pads.
