Black Magic Foam Applicators

I stumbled across these ergodynamic pads--3 in a pack, at Wal Mart. They're sorta square shaped by curved to neatly fit your hand. I'm sure they could be used to apply wax but I think I'm just going to reserve them for applying 303 to a variety of interiro and engine surfaces.

At a buck a piece I think they will give the TOL applicators I just got a run for the money. Definitely get a pack or two of these next time you're in WalMart :up

I picked up a pack in Walmart for like $2.67. The protective

backing makes them perfect for applying protectorants like NXT, 303, etc. It keeps it from seaping through the app to your hands.

The only prob with the app is that its kinda bulky with the backing making it hard to get in carnuaba jars like S100, Nattys or Souveran.

Add to that the fact that they don't seem to conform to the surface that well, and the backing seems to start coming loose after machine washing. I was ecstatic after buying some of these but less so after using. YMMV.

I use MF pads for sealant or wax but are the pads in question very shortly no good for interior dresssing application too? Oh well, at least it wasn't $30 instead of $3

While I love the pads for applying carnauba wax because they do not make my hand ache, they do shortly fall apart if machine washed (even on gentle pulsed).

Bill, no they don't fall apart that fast, I have one that has been washed once or twice and the backing is loose. The backing is fairly thick and stiff, so even on exterior panels, you don't seem to get a large percentage of the surface contacting; I don't know how they would do on the interior, and maybe for that you don't need to wash them often. Like you said, they weren't much money, and they have a place in the "arsenal".

Thanks for the info guys.

These are going to be for applying 303 only. When I need to clean them I'll do so by hand with an APC or Dawn.
