Black Lancer Not 56k/Swirl Friendly - Andy

Well Small car Sunday car show is on tomorrow and is a time when I get to do some friends/friends of friends cars.

This was a black lancer, with **** loads of swirls as you’ll see in the pics. I think I needed some Power Gloss. The whole car was like the below pics. Needed 2 passes with IP on yellow one on green and one FF on white on almost every panel. Surprisingly didn’t need much in the way of clay.

Would have liked to use PG on yellow then IP on green then FF on white or blue.

Here are the before pics:

LSP was Zaino Z5 I have the old school one so have to use Z1 then Z5, and hence could only apply one layer in a day.

That lancer was a train wreck.....

You did an excellent job with the restoration of the paint. From gray to black again!

Excellent job bringing that paint back to life. In the first couple of pictures, I actually thought the paint was white for a minute.

Thanks all! Yeah it was probably the worst paint I have dealt with before, the RO was struggling to get rid of everything though, a few marks left on the bonnet think I needed some Menzerna Power Gloss.

Andy.

Great job. What does the guy wash with? Hopefully you were able to educate the friend on proper washing tech.

Hopefully you weren't polishing with no shoes on. Drop the polisher one time and you'll never do that again.

Thanks for the comments!

Yeah did the car with no shoes and have some good battle scars lol, was just too hot for shoes.

I did instruct him not too wash it before the show, since we are on water restrictions only place to do it without a water tank is the crappy servo ones.

Very nice work! I also use Z1 and happily layer Z5 and Z2Pro in one sitting. Looks stunning, so no issues here...
