Black foam pad

Hello, I will be using fg400 for the first time and need a new pad. I have a backing plate which is a 6'' which actually measures 5 3/4'' in diameter. What is the best pad to purchase and where to get it from. Only looking for a few pads was thinking black waffle.

black would be finishing (in most cases) you'd want a cutting pad for Fast Gloss 400

Cyan Hydrotech
Orange Flat Pad
or a Microfiber Cutting Pad
 
LC Hydrotechs are easy to use and very effective. Cyan or sometimes Tangerine would be the choice for compounding. I would also recommend getting as many as your wallet will allow. It's nice to be able to switch to a clean pad as your working your way around a vehicle. This will keep the chance of marring to a minimum and also let the product work as intended.
 
Black foam pads are finishing pads. Menzerna FG400 is an aggressive polishing compound. In general, you want to match the pad to the polish, or close to it. You can "tweak" the polish's performance by changing the pad, but you want to stick with the same basic concept.
