Black Floor?

So garage renovation is going on and I was thinking the UcoatIt black with red and white flakes...

The question is not about the material, as I will take my changes with it not looking so hot it is with a black floor? I have some that think its just a bad idea with a black TT, I think it will look excellent, and I know beauty is in the eye of the beholder, but I am going to sell this house one day, and I don't want a black floor to be a deal breaker...

Any thoughts on color?

Here is pics of the garage so far, not excellent pics, but what I have for now...it's a 2 car, but only 1 car will be going in it.

I saw go for it. It should look awesome.

If you really build your garage right... along the lines of putting up car posters, or maybe painting a stripe or something on there. As well as putting up really nice matching cabinets, and a sound system of some sort... I would think that it would be a SELLING point to the house. What guy wouldnt want an awesome looking garage?

Hope this helps!!!

Since I work on my own cars the black would be bad. Not only easy to not see stuff, I think that a lighter color would make it easier on my old eyes. IMHO:nono

It's really a matter of personal taste but I don't care for dark floors in a garage.

Too many little bitty mechanical parts, tools and whatever are black or nearly black. A black floor makes it really tough to locate that circlip that you just heard go boooiinnnggg but didn't see take off flying.

Since you have a German car it's not a big deal but as a guy with a British car I judge maintenance intervals by the diameter of the spots on the floor. If they weren't visible I'd be lost.

A black floor sucks up a lot of light. You may want to consider adding more fixtures.

I have to agree with "some", I don't believe a black car on a black surface will be visually appealing (but like I said, that's just my personal taste, it's your garage, do whatever you want!).

You might consider trying it out before committing to it. You could get a whole bunch of black construction paper and tape it to the floor. Of course it would be easier to just snap some digital pix and use Photoshop. (but where's the fun in that?)

PC.

Sounds cool but I'd personally go with alternating black and white checker design tile type floor. Maybe a little less upkeep

Well I'll wade in here and say that my floor is black interlocking tile and I don't have many issues with it. The cement underneath is painted blue and I left about a foot on each side. I don't have any pictures with my two black vehicles in the garage but if you want to check out what all black looks like, see the link in my signature. As an aside, because the tiles have alternating paterns, when you look at the floor from most angles, it looks like a pattern of grey and black. Hope that helps?

I do not trust myself to do much more than detail work myself anyway so hopefully the lost screws thing will not be a problem.

I love the idea of a boom box speaker set up out there, never would have thought of that, great idea!

I think I am gonna go with black...with the flakes for this house, the next house I will go with the tiles, when its dons (prolly in spring) I will put up pics...
