i had waited a few months an just got sick of the nasty paint so i figured i might as well whip it out.. i just did the new paint, (hood, front bumper, drivers fender) the whole rest of the car il do when i fix my pads..

process was:

megs gold class wash

clay magic blue clay

megs gold class wash

ssr 2.5 w/ blue polishing pad @ 6

(still has not been sealed yet, how long should i wait for paint to cure?)

full sun 90*+

ive been into detailing for about half a year, its the most satisfying feeling ive had in a while, finally getting to see the sun's reflection without seeing swirls in the paint :woohoo:

Looks great to me. I know it's hard to achieve a swirl scratch free finish on black. Nice work, but are you going to top it with a selant or wax now.

Since you are concerned with paint not being fully cured a good " LSP " in your case until later would be a hand glaze such as Imperial Hand Glaze by 3m or Top of the Line's Fresh paint glaze Polish

2 coats 2 days apart should be good to go and once a week wash and glaze . By hand with MF or Foam or machine with finessing final pad

Man I would kill for a nice paint job My Nephews T/A with the ram air had a horriable repaint. It has sanding tracers and what looks likes w's though out the hood. when it was marred up you never noticed them..

Nice bird, looks good. Sounds familar with the swirls in the new paint. As for the sealant time, ask your body shop to confirm with them. I asked and they said 30 days, I cant wait!!! But ask them because they will know best seeing as how they painted it and if it gets messed up then its on them.

That's why I recommended the two products that I did . The 3m I KNOW is safe for freah paint , even 1 week old . Akyra ( top of the line ) has nice products too though . Doesn't add any real durable protection of course , but nice slickness and lets paint breathe enough until you can truly seal it ..
