Black car with fine scratches

What do you guys recommend i do ?

I just bought a 5 month old car. Black and the previous owner was not exceptionally fond of caring for his new car. He lives in Rochester and i bought the car and drove it down to Georgia.

The car has fine scratches possibly due to brushing snow off the body with a rough brush or maybe washing from a dirty towel. Never the less there are a lot of fine scratches all over the black car.

What can i do to rid these fine scratches ? and what is the best wax out there for a black car ?

I have a set of P21S car care kit - Should i use it on the black car ?

The car was detailed prior to me picking it up by a local detail shop. So there is a coat of something on there now. Do i need to remove that coat ?

thanks in advance

I am not sure what is in the P21S kit but it sounds like you will need an abrasive polish to remove the defects. This will automatically whatever products are already on the paint

Well, I reckon you won' t have much cold in Atlanta, GA so you are lucky. I would first off go get a steamer and steam the old wax off (and it' ll help you with a lot of tasks from under the bonnet to your upholstery and from your carpet to your windows (stickers and all)

Next I' d wash the car first, clay it with plenty of QD to lube it.

I would then go get a PC and a set of pads. Then select my favorite products (a low cut compound, a polish, a sealant, a wax and a QD)

I live in Europe so I usually use Sonax. But folks here have a lot of brands to tell you to use.

Then tune to your favorite station or throw in your favorite disk.

And there ya go, lots o' fun resulting in joy and pride...

Good luck and congrats with your new wheels...
