Black '51 Chevy Pickup (Restored and Very Nice!)

Cool truck! When I was growing up in California our next door neighbor had the same exact truck, I loved that thing.

:hurray:GREAT job Bill, looks fabulous!!:thumbup::thumbup:

That is a real jewell, indeed. :wink: Nice work! More proof that a rotary unit is not always mandatory to get quality results. That old truck is now Barrett-Jackson material!

This truck has been frame-off restored to factory specs, right down to the straight six engine and the 6-volt power supply. (Although I don't believe the factory paint was even close to this quality, neither were the oak boards in the bed!)

Very nice indeed.

This was for paint correction only. It had quite a few swirls, scratches and water spots.

Process:

ONR wash, Absorber dry
Mothers clay bar
IPA wipedown
M105 via PC7424XP, 5.5" LC Orange CCS, speed 5
M205 via PC7424XP, 5.5" LC White flat, speed 6
IPA wipedown
Blackfire WD via PC7424XP, 5.5" 3M Black Waffle Pad. (x2)
Z8 applied by hand with Megs Supreme Shine MF

For the wooden bed, which was satin clearcoat, I simply wiped it down with Z8, nothing more.

Sorry, no outdoor shots.... it's cold and raining!!!
