I plan to go nuts with ths product over the weekend but I was told to beware because it may be abrasive.

Is it abrasive? How many layers do you suggest I apply this upcoming Saturday (I was thinking at least 10). Will each layer remove a little of the previous? To what point do you think the shine will not get any better?

Thanks....

Try this:

if it is abrasive it is very mildly abrasive,

i used it for about 2 years (before i found this site), and don't use it anymore because it is mostly a filler, (and am a Z addict now, but i can stop anytime.... )

the #2 that i have used with a 9" orbital created a lot of crap i would rather not have. my paint looks perfect (i'm not exagurating :D ) in direct sunlight, but under gasstation lights my car turns into a swirl city, now i know i had swirls before, but i think #2 didn't help anything.

hmmmm, i'm getting a makita 9227c real soon so i can try with that.

input would be nice from you guys.

later,

With the search button, I was hoping people would search for Meguiar's and Abrasive.

Someone did a really good review of the products and ranked them in order of abrasiveness...wasn't too long ago, maybe 3 weeks ago?

No 7 works with oils and fillers not abrasives. It's a show car glaze, not a permanent finishing product. It's effects are temporary. It does a good job but it will wear off. It works similar to Imperial Hand Glaze.

Yes, I have the list of all the polishes but it is in work. I save good info like that when it comes up on the fourm. I also still have the pH test done on sevral different car wash shampoo's.

Thanks Brad, I'm not really looking for any long term shine. I detail my car every weekend and hopefully I can step it up to Sat's and Sunday, I don't do much of anything else so I don't mind re-applying the product quite often as the trade off for the extra shine glaze has.

It's mostly oils! Good luck layering oil over oil! Maybe if you glaze then wax then glaze (after the wax has dried for hours IMO) over the wax? This is assuming the glaze doesn't have solvents that will eat the wax off.

Just thinking aloud, I haven't used the stuff!

That's exactly what I am looking for, peoples thoughts :)

It is the staple product, they told me this is one of there most popular ones, ive used it after ive used a cleaner and then put

souveran...looks great but ...it is a filler.....they have come out with a machine glaze which is better, i use that now. With PC.

I was a major #7/#26 fan before I was introduced to Klasse.

It is better to spread out the applications of the #7. I would see it as wax, only so much will stay on the surface.

The most applications of #7 I would go with in one day is 3 or 4. Then put on two light coats of wax. Then every weekend or everyother weekend put on a coat of wax. You can use #7 after every 2nd or third coat of wax.

The #7 is mostly oils and fillers as said before. It will clean the surface and make it super shiny, but will not last long, probably 4 weeks with a wax on top (#26.)

Just my thoughts,

Jason

After putting 2 to 3 layers of machine glaze (one notch up from Show) then putting a few layers of souvern it lasted the winter.

It is a daily driver and at nights and weekends kept her looking good....I didn't let any dirt stay on her.....I am about to

give a spring clean. the same way...

My other car has Klasse and it it looks good also...

Have you ever used #7? It is a bear to wipe off by hand but with PC no problem. Durability is nearly zero. You must top with a wax or the first New England rain or hot day will wash or evaporate it off. I used to use it on my garage queen with #26. Good shine but no where near the finish produced with Zaino. Will it increase the shine over Klasse and a carnuba topper? :nixweiss

Like the others have said, #7 is an extremely mild polish with fillers and oils. If you want something with a little more 'bite' initially, try #9 first, then #7. Just one coat of each is sufficient. I use #26 for most of my customers, but I have started using Pinnacle Paste Glaz for my high end customers who are willing to pay more.

Personally, I prefer Meguiars Body Shop Pro line to their Mirror Glaze line. If you go to www.meguiars.com and click on the professional distributer's link, you can find out were to get the BSP line in your area. Hand Polish is better than #7, Swirl Free is better than #9, and Dual Action Cleaner/Polish is significantly better than #2. Stay away from Meguiars Detailer line-it is meant for the 'assembly line' style detail shops that need to turn over cars quickly--but the W-Dressing is good on tires.

................

thats johnny on the right with his "oh crap look"!. this is his dads truck.
this mustve been taken right after the truck stalled out. we had to put it in neutral & push it all down the jukyard row. johnny didnt have the keys to the shop or office so we couldnt get to a battery charger or a booster pack lol. we waited for someone to bring us the keys. it was dark out by the time someone came.
johnny had to get the truck back over to the new place so our shoot was cut short. the last shot was taken around 9pm. by the time we packed up it was close to 10pm.

this place will still be around untill next year when they move into theyre new location in college point, also in queens.
