BFBI layering...

How many hours are you all typically waiting to apply a second coat of BlackICE? I usually apply a 2nd coat of BFMS about 2hr's apart. Should I consider it the same?

I've done it 4 hours apart. Something to consider though and I know it sounds funny. But I get OMG WHIPLASH from 1 layer of BI topped with one layer of BFWD 4 hours later! Looks INSANE!
 
I'm a noob so sorry I jump on this thread, but Jsmooth did I read right that you top the BI with BFWD? Isn't it suppose to be the sealant first then wax? I didn't know you could do BI, then BFWD.

I used Menz polish, Power Lock and topped with BI. I thought about a second coat of BI but didn't need it. I never had a shine like that before. It looked like it was about a foot thick in translucent red paint.
 
Wonder how BL Paint Coating topped with BI look? Will find out over xmas break. 4 hours apart and no issues??

i was wondering how that would work as well since i have coated my truck with the bl coating. but i ended up picking up a dodo juice sample kit instead

pretty cool idea there-if it impressed you im sure it was pretty amazing

so if you the topped that with midnight sun wax would that be called wet fire over black ice?

I know it sounds funny and maybe Todd will chime to explain if I'm wrong. But IMO BI has way more protection that BFWD. BFWD is awesomely easy to remove, and BI is well not as easy. So the first time I did this was by accident because I put BI on a JB bimmer and was having trouble getting the streaks with out scratching it. So I waited 4 hours and it put BFWD on it. BFWD came off the soft black paint no problems. Then as I walk away from the car not thinking much, I had a real life whiplash moment when I saw the paint of the car causing a reflection on asphalt(kinda like if you have metal you aim the sun beam off it) The car was doing this. So I looked a little closer the car was BLING. I played with this combo on a lot of other cars and its insane on any color with awesome durability. I've seen it going strong for 7 months now on one of my customers car beading like it did on day one. It really is one of my favorite combo's when I'm going for drop dead insane shine! I think BFWD/MS is a little better on some colors, but dark colors... :drool:
 
Interesting Jsmooth. I may give it a try at least on my motorcycle helmet for a quick look.

When I did my car last month I found BI to be really easy to remove. I did have Power Lock on first before I put BI on.
 
I'd like to try that on my Mustang in the spring, but I don't really need another large jar of wax sitting around. anyone want to send me a sample?
