BF Polish vs Vanilla mouse

Jusr gearing up for a full detail and was wondering before I put on BF PP I would like to use VM instead of BF Polish. I was just wondering if this was acceptable? I guess what I am asking is would it be OK to replace the use of BF Polish with VM? thanks

Try them side by side and go with the one you like best. I've used Vanilla Moose, but not Blackfire, so I can't say from personal experience which one will look best to you.

dengsxr- I couldn't get BFII to bond to VM. It seemed to be an extreme version of the "BFII smearing". Like an oily residue that was on top of the VM. I topped it with P21S and that seemed to solve the problem.

Anyone have success with BFII on top of VM?

Jury is still out, but so far so good......VM + BFPP II..... 02 SS Camaro...

Patrick- I was wondering if you'd tried this combo. Your BFII experiences are just SO different from mine that I'm starting to wonder if I got a bad bottle of BFII. MY VM/BFII experiment was like oil and water, no appreciable bonding whatsoever. Think I'll contact Terry at CMA and see what he says.

Well, Accumulator, like i said....The jury is still out for the combo...Its was done a few weeks ago, and weve had some rain since then...I spoke with the owner over the weekend and he said the water completely sheeted off during the last storm, and the car still retained its slickness.....Now with that said, thats indicative of BF II properties, and it sounds like the jury has nearly reached a verdict. I still have some reservations though.

The combo consisted with Platinum paint cleaner (PC), Clearkote VM (PC), then topped with BFPP II.....(By hand)

Ive done some testing with VM, MW, Platinum and BF, S100...All sorts of combos....Everything looks good to me, but Im no chemist....Im far from a detail technician, but im always playing with products and combos....Just a sincere hobbiest !

Patrick- Heh heh, I think you're too modest. I don't know if you saw my posts on another thread about my VM/BFII experiment. It was on satin black paint that made for a good test surface. Trust me, you didn't get the same results that I did or you wouldn't have given the car back to a customer.

I've decided to quit thinking about why my (and Nick T.'s) BFII experiences are so unsatisfactory and I'm just gonna order some Platinum. With all the great products out there, I'm willing to admit that ONE of them didn't work for me and just move on. There were plenty of things I DID like about the BF, so more power to you, those of you who get good results with it :xyxthumbs

Logging off to go buy Platinum...

Platinum is definetly more user friendly, near identical results, I'd put it just a notch below BF II for depth, but a notch above for ease of use.....nearly identical in durability....

Patrick - Thanks for the PUPP/BFII comparo. I doubt that I'll miss a LITTLE depth in this case (silver car). We'll see, I'm not abaying my BFII just yet!
