Best wheel sealant for raw aluminum polished TT2 wheels?

I'm looking for a top notch cleaner and sealant for my new Torq Thrust Two wheels. So far, I hear Rejex and Poorboy's wheel sealants are the best. I will start on the barrels tomorrow. Any advice is appreciated.

Thanks!

I've used Michelin's Step 3 Brake Dust Repellent as well as PB's wheel sealant.
The Michelin is really easy to use, but I don't think it does anything more than repel dust. I don't feel it has the protection of PB's wheel sealant, and doesn't last as long.

3M's chrome & metal polish also leaves some acrylic protection behind.

I have only used PB wheel sealant. I’m sorry I can’t offer you a comparison. I have been very pleased with it though. I highly recommend layering. Brake dust and other debris wipe right off. It leaves the wheels very slick. As with all PB products it is very easy to work with.

I also recommend poorboys wheel sealant. its a really good product to use on your wheels and it leaves on pretty good protection too.

If you want the BEST selant for those aluminum wheels spend some coin and buy http://zoopseal.com/zoopseal.asp

Do not even bother with any of the others listed.

Poorboys works great on chrome but if you truly want to seal the wheels and have 2 years of trouble free maintenance use the Zoop

I've heard good things about Zoop, but the reason I've never tried it is....how do you remove marring/scratches on the aluminum without removing the sealant? 2 years of just normal wear and tear and they are going to be pretty scratched up...oxidized free, but scratched up.

Bare aluminum scratches really easy, and after 2yrs I doubt they will look as good as new

This is after a couple of months of "babying" my wheels - only using a sheepskin mitt to wash and Microfibers for everything else:

IMO spending about 30 -40 mins. once every 6wks to lightly polish and seal my wheels is not a problem for me.

Guys, please.... Can I get some unbiased opinions here? I realize Poorboys is a sponsor but is this Forum another Autopia/Meguiar's deal?

What about Rejex? Poorboys is not the only game in town fellas.

With all due respect...

Thank you

Welcome Raymond.
I answered as far as I know. 3M leaves acrylic protection, but is really a polish. Michelin has an easy to use protect that doesn't last very long. I'm pleased with Poorboy's World Wheel Sealant.

You'll find there are certain favourites here: Poorboys's, Meguiar's, Optimum, Wolfgang, Pinnacle, Clearkote, FK, DP--all of these are mentioned here to varying degrees. Partly, the reason people fall in love with these products is because the sponsors give away samples to try on occassion. I simply would not have bought Wolfgang Tire Diamond Gel, but because of a sample, I'd consider it.

You can feel free to be critical of any product--I am critical of Meguiar's and some Automagic stuff--but there is nothing artificial about this community.

Another reason is becasue they all work really well. Most people have tried out various products and recommend the ones that they have had work for them in the past, saving you the trouble with experimenting. If you see any biased information and you can prove that the product doesn't live up to it's name then post away, to let people know your side of it

I have been on these boards for quite some time. I have found that people tend to be honest in their reviews and in expressing the results achieved with individual products. You asked for “advice”. Members if honest (and we typically are) are only going to give you advice on products we have used based on products we have used because we are pleased with the product not because it is sold by a sponsor.

We choose to use products for many reasons i.e.: ease of use, price, product supports, end result and I’m sure many others. If we recommend a product offered by a sponsor it is NOT because they are a sponsor it is because it is a GOOD product. Besides aren’t all opinions “biased” to some extent. They are ones personal opinions and responses to a product used. Auto detailing is not as precise and mathematics. We used what we feel is a good product and delivers results we are happy with.
