Best wheel cleaner for $20 a gallon or less

Weight is the enemy.
As the title of this thread states I am looking for a dedicated wheel cleaner, or an APC that is safe for all rims, that comes in at $20 or less per gallon. I put this price point in because I found Megs Wheel Brightener locally for $20 a gallon and I'm wondering if there's anything that's either more economical or better at a similar price. I would be most thankful for your recommendations, perferably with links to the place to buy them. Thank you.

megs wheel brightener hands down. I dilute mine 3:1 so your getting 3 gallons if you do it that way. It is dilutable up to 4:1! Its the only way to go!

Awesome, just checking to see if there is something that I might not have heard about. I'll get the WB this week.

Simple Green Pro Series, dilute 4:1, $34.95 for 5 gl. pail, comes out to $7 a gl. No acids to hurt you or car.

I used to use Simple Green, I got it on some aluminum rims and it was a very bad thing. My mom's car has aluminum rims and I don't want to take the chance. I use SG for other stuff, like very dirty carpets, but because of it's reaction on Aluminum I don't use it for rims anymore.

well a lot of wheel cleaners react bad with bare aluminum so any ac id cleaner wouldnt really work for u. simple green pro series is different than the one u buy at the store. its made specifically for automotive use and has a lot of dillution ratios. but as said for aluminum wheels theres not many "all type" cleaners available that are strong enough for those caked on brake dusted wheels.

edit: i just rememebred that simple green released an aluminum safe cleaner safe for every single type of surface.

i got a sample of it 2 months ago and ran out. it worked really well, only thing is u have to call simple green customer service to order it.

I actually have a bottle of that, I've been using it on motors at about 3:1. I do like the stuff a lot, but I'd like something I can get without being a distributor or going to my local airplane shop, it's only a few blocks away but I can't get in because I lack a plane of my own (it's just off the runway).

Automagic has a product called MAGnifcent non acid wheel cleaner. Its very strong and does not streak or stain the bare alum. mag wheels. Its cuts thru the toughest break dust, dirt whatever with ease. Its also good for any other type of wheel, And white walls.

Also tubafreak, you should check out the yellow pages for a local chemical supplier. Most times you can find pure phosphoric acid that you can pick up cheap. I bought 2 gallons a few weeks ago, cost me $30 and i can make probably 20 gallons from that. Its a good and cheap way to clean all those coated wheels. And could reduce the amount of apc that you use.
