Best way to fix this scratch?

When I bought my 2000 Silverado 2001, it unfortanately came with these scratches. The color is a metallic blue. The scratches seem to be light blue in color or white in some areas. Would Lankga work here?

Thanks for the input.

I'm kinda new to this so I wanted to get some opinions before I screwed it up beyond repair. I have scratch X, but you can definitely feel the scratches, would it still work?

Is that just a paint transfer or marring on the clearcoat? If so just polish out with scratch X.

If it is a real scratch (original blue paint removed) you will have to get some touch-up paint to repair it.

I believe the paint has been removed. I have touch up paint - should I use the Langka Wetsand2000 Kit I have on this?

Time for the fingernail test! Great pics by the way!

SLOWLY drag a fingernail over the area. Should tell you if you have somebody's else's paint on your vehicle (which is what i see), because it rises up.

If it feels like an indent, does it grab your nail, or merely 'snag' it?

If it snags or grabs, you need aggresive, professional help. PM me.

My guess is that it would wipe off with lacquer thinner...

BlueZ71,

IMHO - First I would compound/polish to see what you are left with and then maybe try some touch up, etc. A while back I got some scratches on my truck's hood from someone laying something on it and dragging - I assumed. The scratches looked very similiar to yours. I applied 3M FCRC by hand with a cotton pad. I would rub for about 30 seconds, wipe, and kept repeating for at least 15 minutes. I finished up with 3M SMR and then put some wax on it. I could not believe the improvement. You could still see them but they blended in pretty good - by knocking down the edges of the scratches. DACP may work also.

GoodLuck.
