best swirl remover

Hey everyone! I am looking for recommendations on the best product for removing swirls on my red Z28. I have some Mothers Pre-wax cleaner - but am not sure if this will remove swirls or just the old wax. I plan on claying it top to bottom, then some cleaner to perfect the paint (including removing swirls). After this, i will be applying a couple of coats of NXT then maybe a coat or two of Mothers Gold Pure Carnauba liquid.

thanks,

:)

Well, you should get a whole bunch of recommendations to this question.

To answer it, we will need to know how bad the swirls are? We will also need to know if you are going to remove them by hand, or with a machine? Also, if by machine, will it be a PC, or rotary?

I've had great success with Meg's DACP and Menzerna Final Polish in removing swirls. I was just using Pinnacle's Paintwork Cleansing Lotion last night and it was able to hide a good deal of the minor swirls. It reduced the visibility of deeper scratches.

The swirls are not real bad, but i am picky and dont like the look of them in the sun. Plus, the top is black so everything is very visible.

I will be using an orbital buffer since i have had better results in the past with it.

One other thing i forgot to mention. My front end (nose of the car) seems to have what looks like small nicks in the paint, but when i run my hand over it, it's smooth as glass. Any ideas how to get rid of these? They are only visible in the sun.

What kind of Orbital Buffer do you have 93zder ?

I bought it from a local Canadian Tire - the name is 'Simoniz', but i'm not sure who acutally manufacters the unit. It works really well though.

I have had much success using the poorboys line of polishes exclusively this past summer.:xyxthumbs

I have tried MANY polishes, and these are by far the easiest to use. However, they also seem to be the most effective for me as well. SSR2.5 seems to work miracles, and can be used with your choice of cutting or polishing pads dependening on what you need to achieve.

One more vote for either 1Z or 3M PI-III RC/MG. *Very* user-friendly and effective.

On the chips, I dunno, usually you have to repaint to fix stuff like that but a good polishing will help somewhat.
