#9 or SMR may not be aggressive enough to REMOVE heavy swirls (depending on how severe they are), although both contain fillers that will help hide them. It wouldn't hurt to try one of them first and see if you get the results you're looking for.

If they don't remove the heavy swirls you'll need something more aggressive, and if you want to stay with either Meg's or 3M here are a couple of good combos to try:

Meg's #80 or 3M PI III MG (machine glaze). If these arenâ€â„¢t aggressive enough for the heavy defects then youâ€â„¢ll need to step up to Megâ€â„¢s DACP (#83) or 3M PI III RC (rubbing compound)

You should start out with #80 or MG first and then step up to #83 or RC if needed to remove the more severe defects (swirls). Then if needed follow up again with #80 or MG.

I assume you're asking about your paint color (light or dark) in reference to which SMR to buy (light or dark). I've never used SMR but my GUESS is the dark may be the better of the two choices. BTW, that is a beautiful color!
