best supplies for starting a new business

Hello everyone, I am a new member of autopia and also trying to get a detailing business going for the first time. I have always enjoyed detailing cars for friends and family but with the tool and die trade dying I decided to try and make this somewhat of a full time gig. I have researched all kinds of products but there seems to be an overwhelming number of directions to go with all the different supplies and products. I seem to always go back to the chemicalguys for some reason. Any advise on what direction to go for a first time business or stick to the local hardware store products?

Well, I would be the last person to encourage more loss out of the trades, but if you are going to do full time detailing you are going to need to get supplies in bulk, not from the "hardware store". You can try to develop a relationship with a local supplier of car detailing products or you can try a place like Auto Detailing Solutions -- Meguiar's Car Wax, Auto Polish & Detailing Supplies Store . Also, some of the more "boutique" web stores have pro detailer programs, I remember seeing something about CMA having that, maybe Autopia Car Care as well, probably Top of the Line, and maybe Autogeek.
