Hey guys!!

For some reason I’m unable to perform a search on the forum. :werd: SO…..I thought I would start a thread on car washes. When I was at the store a few months ago I saw Meguiars NXT Car Wash and thought I would get it next time I visited the store. Since then I have not been able to find it. That and I really don’t’ know anything about the product. So I thought I would ask a few experts their opinion on what car shampoo seems to work best. I’m looking for something to use on my black vette that will help with prevent water spotting and hopefully help cut down on dust. Any input would be appreciated. I'm sorry, I realize this has probably been discussed in the past.

Thanks guys!!

I haven't had a chance to try the DG, but since it's on sale through the end of the month at CarQuest, I should grab a bottle.

NXT and Gold Class are hard to beat overall considering price, performance, and availability.

I tend to favor NXT since it seems to help a bit with water spots

I don't like NXT on my car because I find that it tends to strip some of the LSP where Gold Class and 901 do not.

I have never heard of Duragloss. Does DG help prevent dust and water spotting? Does Advanced Auto Parts sell this item? I will have to look into DG more closely.

sspeer you have found the NXT does actually help cut down on water spotting?

Thank you for the info. The last thing I want to do is strip some of the wax off each time I wash.

DG Car Wash Concentrate is the only soap I use. I like it better than Zaino Z7 and many many others I've used over the years... The DG would be hard to top in my book, as it does everything I need very well.

It surprised me but I've been using Black Magic lately in my foam gun and really like it. It foams better than Gold Class or NXT. Probably not as slick as Gold Class. Cleans well and seems gentle on wax and LSP. I've washed my cars in direct sun a lot and it seems to sit well on the car until I rinse and dry.

you can find DG products at carquest...

"Is a highly concentrated blend of mild surfactants and cleaners that actually enhance the shine of painted vehicles each time it is used. Does not contain acids or alkali and will not remove durable polishes. "Shines as it Cleans".

DG #902 is the gallon size

I've got #903 here :D

It's the 1/2 gallon (64 oz.) container.

And to the OP: Yes, its a wonderful shampoo. And no, you can't get it at Discount Auto... but you should be able to at a Carquest. It's where I got mine.

It seems DG likes to put that on many of their products. The question is, what exactly do they consider to be "durable 'polishes' "?

I prefer the ONR method, but for shampoo, especially OTC shampoo, you cant go wrong with NXT or DG...I have both and like both a lot.

Does DG strip off Zaino products?

Absolutely not. I find the DG soap to be equal to Zaino's Z7 in cleaning power and mildness on the LSP. Before I stopped using Zaino, I used the DG CWC all the time when my Z7 supply ran out. Actually, it was hard to tell the difference between the two from a performance standpoint. DG worked very well with Z products.

I like Gold Class, but now use Chemical Guys Citrus Wash. Very impressive and extremely concentrated.

I've also heard nothing but excellent stuff about DG 901.

That is my question exactly.
