Best Products for Bright Red

OK, you all are going to think I am nuts here. Sorry for the last thread. I was notified today that the silver Focus the dealership was going to get was unavailable. That was news to me. It worked out better in the end. I signed the paperwork today and they are going over a state to pick up my new car. The paint color is called Infra-Red. I think that's a fancy way of saying bright red in Ford language. I have both Menzerna FPII & FMJ, Original BF, and the Klassie Twins. I also have PS21 & #16. However, isn't it bad to apply caranuba if you would like to apply a sealant booster down the road? I really like way the Ultima Products look and sound. But, um, $70.00 for 12oz. of sealant? I don't care if the car waxes itself and all I have to do is supervise, thats awfully expensive. Thanks for all the advise on the silver thread, but as it turns out, I'm getting the red car. Any advice on a bright red car will be very well recieved and appreciated. Thanks in advance. :2thumbs:

I have heard that Natty's blue is very good on dark color cars.

I use Zaino on my silverado that is victory red and love it..

I've used Zaino on a Spice Red metallic GTO and it turned out great. Alas I have a black car and I'm using Natty's Red on it at the moment.

Are you talking about sealants and waxes or polishes and pure glazes.

I really love soft 99 colour evolution polish and Ultra Gloss Superpolish

They really make the colour richer.

I would go with a good prep with polish, followed by Red Moose Glaze, then Pin. Souveran... Next option a good prep folowed by Red moose glaze, Meg #21, and the if you want to top with a nuba Natty's Blue or PS. CGuys WET MIRROR FINISH chan be used in the place of the RMG. Good Luck.

Swissvax Onyx - reeeaal good stuff for any colour, but it completely transformed the look off my Red....nice deep glossy shine :

The FMJ will look good. I always liked it on my red GTI. You have many great products use what you like and experiment.

I have found with bright red that a well prepped surface, clayed, and cleaned with a good paint cleaner, most any reputable wax will produce pretty good results. I have owned 3 bright red cars in recent years, and have used sealants and carnaubas of many different brands and have never had bad results after prepping the surface properly.

On my "Torch Red" (aka Bright Red) Ford Mustang I get awesome results with KAOI topped with P21S. This assumes a good cleaning and claying of course.

My car is going on 6 years old and is not garaged. (It does sleep under a car cover though)

I bring it to car shows and cruise nights and people tell me it looks fantastic. Most don't believe that it's a 2002.

Here's a very inexpensive, OTC attempt I performed on my previous ride. I was very pleased with the results: TWPUG + Megs #26

For comparison, here's the same shot, 1 year Prior -- with some Black Magic Titanium Synthetic = garbage (Free After Rebate):

Of the products you mentioned, I would guess BF or P21S would be the "reddest"? You didn't say, but I am guessing it's not a metallic red? Klasse AIO would be a great base/prep no matter what you put on top though.

Really, you have all those products, why not try them all and see what you think?

No wonder, they are terrific looking waxes!!!

I'd include the Mothers Reflection series to the list, among OOS, #16 (×3), CMW, OCW, all the Victorias, and to some extent 845.

Ah, and I almost forgot the #21...

I would say Zaino looks well on red.... (Here are some different shades to give you an idea)

Ok, I have the car in my garage finally. I was wondering which process to use. There is some swirling on the paint from whoever at the dealership washed it. I was going to clay first. As far as polish, I have AIO, but I also have original Blackfire Gloss polish. Should I use that for the swirls or the AIO? Then, after which ever, do I still need to wait 24 hrs before the sealant? I was going to try the Blackfire. How long does the BF usually last? I can throw some either #16 or PS21 over the sealant. Thanks again for everybodies wisdom and patience with me here. It's been a while since I have put TLC into a car. My Wrangler gets AIO and SG just to keep the Custom Pinstripping (read scratches) from rusting and the mud beading off. :har:

Mirror Glaze #80 followed by Mirror Glaze #26. Those expensive red cars are almost as purrty as my 80k mile daily driver. :D
