Best product to use in Extractor

I think there are 4 settings on my dryer. REGULAR, PERMANENT PRESS, FLUFF AIR, and TUMBLE DRY i think. What do you suggest i set it on to dry my Charisma and Royal Velvet towels?

With 100% cotton towels, I always use the regular (high heat) setting, the thick Charismas can take it. I have never had a problem at this setting. However, with Microfiber towels, I use the no heat, just tumble or low heat for a few minutes. Microfiber towels should not see high heat during a wash or dry cycle. Cotton can take the heat much better.

the only reason why I don't tumble dry my towels is because there are otherwise drying sheets in the dryer. I don't want the residue from the dryer walls to get deposited on to the towels. I'll wipe the walls down with a wet towel if I do use it. Microfiber is technically more durable then cotton as in number of washes. DK is right in that hanging them before complete drying allows for less static. But you can dry them fully if you wish.

We never use fabric softener in the wash or those fabric softener sheets in the dryer, they ruin your clothes. I find that MF's will get static build up if the dryer gets too warm however I never had a 100% cotton towel get static build up. It seems that man made fibers are more prone to static cling.

This is pretty much how I do my Charismas. They also seem to stay plush better this way. Leaving them in the dryer till dry or hang drying them without any use of the dryer seems to harden the cotton loops.

MF towels are tumbled at the lowest setting for about 20 minutes and then air dried.

hey guys i bought a Thermax Therminator hot water extractor and was wondering whats best carpet cleaning product to use in it? Thanks

Lambo1,
Congrats on the Extractor purchase; I have a Mytee HP60 Spyder, and love it. Have found that low foaming cleaners work best, and Meguiar's APC Plus fills that requirement perfectly.

My other go-to product is Meguiar's Quik Out Carpet Stain Remover; which is a product that Meguiar's and Bissell made together. this product will foam a little more, and foam is not the best coolant for extractors, so you want to be more careful using it, so you dont hurt your extractor.

I tried commercial carpeting cleaners and found they didnt really work that great for automobiles, and ended up costing much more, had to be mixed from powders, and are generally at least in my experience, old technology compared to what I mentioned above..

Get a gallon or 2 of distilled white vinegar, to occasionally run through your machine and tools to keep them clean internally; just be sure to rinse it all out completely before you do your next carpet cleaning job.

Prepare to be stunned at the amount of dirty water thats in your recovery tank that comes out of carpets and mats that seem really clean! :):):)

I have personally found that clean carpeting and mats, contribute to the overall "healthy air" you breathe in your car, and not kicking up all that fine, almost impossible to remove dust around in your car seems to cut down on alot of sneezing, and stuff in the car.

If you use a strong cleaner like Zep High Traffic or something like that, it will foam up but putting 8 or so ounces of vinegar in the recovery tank will abate the foam.

I would not put anything in the solution tank, your parts will last SO much longer. Use a sprayer to apply your solutions.

Cheers,
GREG

I totally agree with Greg - and have not put anything into my solution tank except water and occasionally, 1/2 gallon white distilled vinegar + 1 gallon of hot water, let it sit overnight, and then plug in my extractor tools, and run some of the solution through them, and last, use the hose to vacuum out the rest of the solution tank into the recovery tank, and dump it.
Then you might want to run a bit more water through the entire system and tools again, to get all the vinegar out.

Hope you are working with the extractor and learning how to use it - what are the specs of it ?
