best product for interior plactics?

Just a quick one here.

I've got a can of Simoniz foaming cleaner for use on the dashboard etc but it's nearly empty (has lasted me 3 years!) and no-one stocks any more in the UK. It's great stuff as it leaves no residue and a totally factory finish (i.e. satin with no shine - perfect)

Any suggestions for a replacement as I really hate shiny dashboards and interior plastics.

Thanks.

I really like Poorboy's Natural Look or Lexol's Vinylex for a matte interior finish. I'm sure you can find one of them on your side of the pond.

Aerospace 303.

I found it locally at a Boat/Marine store, no idea if it'll be the same where you are. Although you are surrounded by a lot of water.... ;-)

I found a new product to use: West Marine Vinyl Protectant. It's cheap, works well with a medium gloss, and lasts a long time. Here are two pics with it used. I use it on all vinyl, plastic, and rubber.

I agree with Scott P. I like Poorboys Natural Look. I used two weekends ago and liked the way it went on and buffed to a matte look :up .

I recently used the Mercedes Vinyl / Plastic Protection and was very pleased with the results. It goes on very easy, doesn't require buffing, has a light cleaner and UV protection. The best part is it has a matte finish, it's not oily and smells like leather.:)

Thanks everyone,

Lots of choice there - reminds me how good Autopia is - just need some dry weather (oh, and a coupla Ferraris, a Porsche....hey, we can all dream, right?)

Interesting question that I may soon be asking myself. However, sometimes it depends on the car and the way you apply.

For example, I have been using the Autoglym rubber and plastics cleaner. When I used it in the Pug, I accidently left it on and it dried to a gloss and I hated it, but in the Volvo I tend to wipe it back off and it gives a sheen that works for that car (maybe becuase the dash has that leather grain effect whereas the Pug didn't  ) . I don't think it will give you a matt finish though, so I would be interested in something easily availble that would (the volvo estate is a daily driver also used for shopping, load hauling and dogs so the interior gets a beating)

I like Vinylex as it non-greasy, provides UV protection & drys to a matt finish (if you buff it).

This is available in the UK at a fairly reasonable price from Moss Motors.
