Best PC 7424 Pads for Zaino

Hey Guys! I've been a loyal Zaino user for almost two years now and love it. Here's my question. We have a couple of black cars.... I use my PC 7424 for all app's of Zaino. Which pads are best for sealants/Zaino? Flat pads? Lake Country CSS pads? Lake Country Hydro? Sonus flat? Anyone who has ever used Zaino know one of the problems is getting the product on evenly. Thoughts?? Thanks in advance!!!

I've used the Lake Country CSS pads in the past. They seem to work fine but I was wondering if there was something better. When you apply your Zaino by hand are you using the white cloth pad they include with orders or the sponge pad? Do you use the ZPC swirl remover by hand also?

Hmm thats interesting. I cant help but think that you might have better luck applying it more evenly with a traditional flat pad, instead of ones with little pockets that hold some of the zaino in there but I may be wrong.

I just always use the supplied cotton applier for the sealants.

I havent used the ZPC. But judging by the name, you probably want to use the PC :)

Thats what I was thinking about the pads. Just thought I would check with others experience. What swirl remover do you use before you seal??

Well, a number of things.

Usually, Meguiars 205 or Poorboys SSR1. Then I follow it up with a good IPA wipedown to let the Zaino bond correctly.

Thoughts on Mazerna SIP? I have two black cars and the is in pretty good shape other than the semi annual swirl remover due to normal wash. Even though I'm careful black is still black. Mazerna might be too aggressive?

Well, its hard to say. Depending on the hardness of the paint, you may need to go back over it with something less aggressive to remove any micromarring that might occur. There are a ton of guys around here who are experts with Menzerna. If you arent wanting absolute perfection, it probably will be just fine.

SIP is probably one of the most popular polishes here.

Zaino is spread so thin, I'm not sure why you

would waste time with a PC and pads. Your going

to waste more product in the process. And the amount of money

you spend on it isn't worth it.

Zaino's website even recommends by hand only.

I can spread Zaino with my PC and 4 inch red pad super thin, much thinner than by hand and the coats are more even on the paint. :waxing:

I agree about the pads. I've spoken to Sal about it and he told me that using the PC was fine as long as I was keeping it thin. It takes practice but I've gotten pretty good at it. My real search is a slightly more aggressive swirl remover than the ZPC. I mean just slightly more aggressive. I'm considering Wolfgang TSR or Menzerna Power finish........

Thanks, I like the chart. So the Nano (106) is between the ZPC and Power Finish. I didnt see any Wolfgang listed. Are you not a fan?

Sinceyou already have ZPC and ZAIO, you can do decent correction with ZPC and an orange light cutting pad and finish out pretty nicely. Then follow up with ZAIO on a white polishing pad. If that is not enough correction do ZPC w/ orange, ZPC again w/ white and then ZAIO w/ black/blue pad.

Might save you needing to buy a buncj of new products.

Yeah, thats what I've done in the past but the ZPC is just not quite getting rid of all the swirls. Thats why I was looking to just go one small step more aggresive.
