Best leather cleaner & conditioner?

I am putting together a detailing kit for my uncle for x-mas so he can keep up his car after I detail it for him for x-mas. He lives several hundred miles away, so I wont be detailing it for him again for a long time. It is a black on black Mazda 6 (leather int.) so he will need some good stuff to keep it swirl free. lol Anyways I know he wont clean his leather and then condition, so what do you guys think would be the best cleaner & conditioner in one? And one that actually protects and cleans. I was thinking Megs Int. QD, but I'm not sure what kind of protection it has.

BTW so far this is what I'm going to get him (and I'm not trying to spend too much)

Wax (not sure what yet, but probably CGs Liquid Carnauba w/xseal)

MF applicators - 2

MF drying towels - 2

MF terry weave towels - 4

Glass towels - 2

303

Sheep skin wash mit

Wash - probably CGs or NXT (I gotta find out what he already has though)

E1 A2Z

Leather Cleaner & Condition (dont know which)

He already has basic wash stuff, I'm assuming, so he doesn't need everything.

Thanks for any and all advise.

I like EO Leather care. Cleans and conditions quite nicely, supple and matt finish and no lingering odor.

If you don't mind the extra cost, OCW would be a nice easy to use wax to give him.

Otherwise there's Mothers FX spray wax and EO WAUD which can both be used on wet paint after washing.

Thanks I was just thinking about OCW and while I was thinking about that I found OC Protectant and saw it was a cleaner and conditioner for leather too. I will do a search and see what I can find out about it. Otherwise, how much is E1 Leather care?

Edit: I didn't find much if anything on Optimum Protectant, so if anyone has any thoughts on it, it would be greatly appreciated.

Off topic, but...Madix, you have a lot of products! lol Very nice collection. :hifive: ( I just looked at your sig link)

Thanks. It's all due to this website lol.

EO Leather Care cost me AU$16 at Kmart here.

I haven't seen any online prices for it there but it should be available OTC for well under US$10.

It's about as much as the Megs equivalent which isn't as good imo.

For an all in one Leather Cleaner and Conditioner you can't go wrong with Einzett leathercare. Cleans protects and leaves a great natural finish.

I'm a 1Z fan too. It leaves a nice finish and feel plus I like the smell.

I'm hoping to test out some Kit Leather Gold this afternoon. I'll let you know what I think about it.

By far the best I have used is Leathermaster. Just top quality stuff! :bigups

The easiest I have used in terms of a universal dressing/conditioner is Optimums Portectant Plus.

Leathermaster "Strong Cleaner" and "Vital" conditioner are my go to products for concour type details. Vinyl is treated with OPP and general cleaning is with Opt's Degreaser.

I will be getting OCP+ because I found a place that I can get it cheap...and if people want to do a group buy I can get all Optimum stuff cheap. Just a thought.

I have only used 1 type of leather cleaner since the H2 is my first vehicle with a leather interior. I use Zaino Z-9 cleaner and Z-10 conditioner. I love the Z-10. Great authentic leather smell. It condtions nicely with out a greesy feeling and goes on smooth. Leaves a nice rich leather look. I'm happy with it so for now i wont be trying anything else for a while.

Well, I got to use the Kit Leather Gold Cleaner and Conditioner...

I'm not overly impressed with it, but it's not bad. Seems to have light cleaning ability and decent conditioning. It leaves the seats a little too slick for my tastes. At the same time, I've never used a cleaner/conditioner all-in-one type leather product, so I can't compare it to others. Soon I'll check out Turbo Wax's leather cleaner/conditioner.

I'll second Anthony's recommendation of Leathermaster especially on so many of today's thickly coated seats.

I'm another fan of 1Z Lederpflege. It cleans well, makes the leather look and feel great, and smells good as well.

And I'd recommend P21s wheel cleaner instead of the E1 A2Z. If you already cleaned the wheels when you worked on it, I don't think he'll need something that strong. Tell him to put some sealant on the wheels if they aren't already sealed. Then he car just use the car wash soap.

And show me some pics! I love Mazda6s!

Although it isn't a great cleaner (no combo leather product is), Turtle Wax makes an excellent cleaner/conditioner that doesn't leave the seats slick, sticky, or shiny--just soft. Plus it's 6 bucks and local.

And IMO the Meg's IQD is a great product, but more for daily maintenance, not for someone who is going to do the seats once a month.

Hi everyone,

I'm a big fan of Leatherique products. I used it on my neglected LS400 interior and it works wonders. The users of this product tend to be very loyal, even though it is expensive as heck! ($40) for the whole kit..My leather was cardboard in texture before I used it...After two treatments it was really soft. I couldn't believe it. An even better result would have been attained had I used it in warm weather as it says to do..
