Best for Silver?

I am picking up my brand new car this week and it's CD Silver. I have Klassie AIO and SG. I have never done a silver car before. What would bring it the best shine/protection?

with great results, a lot lesst time, a very wet looking finish

Clearkote RMG

Poorboys EX-P

Natty's Blue

with great results, longer time, very wet and slick/soft to "touch"

AIO

zaino's z2 pro/z5

z8 topper

FWIW I only like the Klasse twins on certain silvers (yes on Mazdas, *NO* on Audis). I really like how UPP looks and 845 isn't bad. The old #16 is nice and my wife's fave is Souveran paste.

I tried numerous products on my silver vehicle when I first got it and ended up using Zaino and like it the best. I should be more specific, Z2p looks the best. It seems to have the best optical clarity and really makes the metal flak pop. Z-AIO also works very nice. I reserve Z5p for my darker cars.

AJ is really nice on silvers; it does darken the color a bit, though. Good flake pop.

Blackfire is another great looking product over silver. It also darkens the color a bit.

The Zaino products I use (AIO, CS, Z8) maintain silver's natural tone. They look very good, clear.. flakes show right through.

Duragloss products are also very nice on silver. I currently use AW as a topper/booster over AJ and Zaino (and their marine detail spray as a gloss booster - also very good)

As far as waxes/wax-polymer combos for silver, I like Col. No.845, Meg. #16 and P21S.

I found using the twins and Opti-seal on my silver Mazda works great and held up very well these past 6 months , but i will be using ultima and maybe Zaino in the near future.

Thanks for the replies so far. The car is a Ford Focus ST. It's brand new. I plan on claying it immediatly. SO far in my arsenal I own the Klassie twins, Menzerna, and a bunch of local store stuff. I do still have a bottle of Blackfire seleant, but it's about 3.5 years old. Would it still be any good?

I would think the Blackfire is still ok at a few years old.. as long as it hasn't been left outside to freeze/thaw, etc. Try it, I don't think it'll hurt anything. AFAIK, BF Paint Protection has been improved, so if you like it you may want to buy a new bottle.

The Klasse twins will look decent and last long, but there are nicer looking sealants out these days.

Which Menzerna product do you have?

If your OTC products include Mother's FX SynWax, it too is very good on silver.. very bright and glossy. Application isn't as easy as some (careful, I think it stains trim), but removal is very easy. FX Spray wax is a good booster/gloss enhancer for FX SynWax (and other sealants, too). Walmart has FX SynWax for under $9.00.

IMO it's tough to top Zaino Z2 pro on silver/gray metallic's. It makes the flake pop, and gives it a super wet reflective look. And if you want to add a little warmth and depth it can be topped with your favorite carnauba (P21S, S100, Pinnacle, etc...).

And I also have and use the Klasse twins, they're just not my go to product on light colored metallics anymore.

I would hit it with Men. polishes first then klasse twins. Then the blackfire. This should look awesome. Allow time between coats for products to cure.

longarm- The old BF should still be fine; my bottles of it are at least five-six years old and both v1.0 and v2.0 are still OK. As long as you keep the bottles tightly sealed LSPs can last a long, long time (well over a decade IME I have some from the '80s that are still OK).

Make sure you like the BF look though, the darkening might not be to your liking.

Z2 Pro works very well on metallic silver. I've been using it for over a year on my car and the flakes just vividly pop.

I have tried a lot of products on my silver car and the one that really jumps out at me is 845, especially when hitting it with AW a day or 2 later...
