I need a bug remover that can do windows and my bumper...without doing any damage to either.

What is the best out there?

I have actually used alot of bug removers, but lately I have been letting ONR sit on the areas then following them up with a good scrub. I'm happy!

all the more reason (pre-soak and to wash) i like using this...

Thanks for the responses.

Are all big-name bug removers clearcoat safe and window safe? What do you scrub with?

As for the last post, what will that do that regular scrubbing won't? All you're doing is shooting soap suds on there.

if you spray and pre-soak, it will soften up any bugs, dirt, etc., and all i have to do is hose it off and the majority of it comes right off. plus, i don't have to scrub hard at all to get anything that is leftover off. i guess it's not for everyone...

I tried the pre soaking method using Meg's GC properly diluted in a spray bottle but it may have been to soft as it really did nothing.

I need something that can really cut the HARD bug guts that are stuck on the front bumper. The kind that are crusty. Blasting with my Karcher can get most of the bug splatters off but there are some that require heavy scrubbing which I want to avoid.

I wouldn't use that^^^ if you paid me to.

I actually have this stuff that's about as simple as it gets. You spray it on. wait about 10 seconds then either wipe or hose it all. 100% of the bugs gone 100% of the time. It's simply called "Auto Gem's Bug remover" and I've never seen anything work even close to half as well or as fast.

Ixnay on "scrubbing" when it comes to paint ;)

For windows, I use the bug sponge that ABQDetailer showed, with regular glass cleaner. Zero problems and it works like a charm, but no, I'd never use it on paint.

And no, my foamgun doesn't do all *that* much for bugs, although the clinging foam does give the shampoo a longer dwell time so it does soften them up a bit. Sometimes it's enough to make all the difference.

I just wash normally and then use Sonus green Ultra-fine clay on what's left and hope the bugs didn't compromise my LSP...using bug remover will, AFAIK, always remove the LSP too and I'd rather not rewax/reseal if I can avoid it. I usually *can* avoid it as heavily layered KSG is very resistant to bugs and so is Collinite 476S and, to a lesser extent, Meg's #16 (some of my other LSPs, including some sealants, don't stand up to bugs worth anything).

It's love bug season again around here and finally had a chance to use DG BR (Bug Remover) and attack those stuck on after a coupla days trip. Sprayed, let dwell and washed as normal and had very minor bug residue left over that was taken care of when reapplied when dry w/ a mf cloth. It doesn't appear as if it compromised the finish at all.

This from their site:

Dissolves and removes bugs, oil and tar with ease. Works great on painted surfaces, fiberglass, chrome and glass. Will not harm clear coated paint or remove durable polishes.
