Before & After of my 78 TA

The day I bought the car. The paint was heavily oxidized. I know it needs paint but I dont have $6k. I used 3M perfect it 2 compound, Meguires #7 and finished it off with Meguires gold class wax. I need to re-do it and give it a clay bar scrub first and do a better polish job on it.

After. Sorry for the poor quality pictures.

That turned out good. Perfect It 2 is my go-to compound. Ive never used anything that can cut 800 scratches like its nothing but is still practical enough to use on 30 year old paint without destroying it. It finishes down nicely for a heavy compound too. Nice job on the T/A.
IMO..dont repaint it now that you've corrected it. Its a survivor :)

Looks pretty good to me overall! Is that oxidized Ford Ranger next? :D

LOL, I should offer to do it for him but that is his parts picker-upper and I know he could care less. The paint has some blemishes in it still but the thing is 33 years old. I'm going to respray the back bumper but that is it. It is starting to get warm now so the wash and clay bar treatment is going to happen soon. I'm going to take autogeeks advice and go do town with the #7 and seal it up real good. Lots of cruise ins and shows to hit.

Thanks for the comments. Nice to know from pros I'm doing it right.

It's definitely coming along nicely. The back bumper is the only downer and it looks like you have a plan already!
