Been awhile - lots of cars, too many pics (Vantage's, 911's, 335's oh my)

Hey guys - been awhile, busy; you know how that goes. I've felt bad because I haven't been commenting/contributing to Autopia lately, just been so busy with work, company... Nov-April I do my yuppy-corporate-world-computer-engineering job, so between that and details, well, ya. Anyway, here goes.

I apologize in advance for cars with no outside pictures. November in Toronto isn't exactly "picture friendly".

I guess I'll just go in chronological order!

BMW Z4, fairly new, but quite a few "auto washes", the paint on this car was really hard which is odd for a BMW. It was detailed about a year ago by the dealer, holograms were still there, heh.

Infiniti G35, '03 sedan. Shocking, I know - I think this is the 830th this year. :) It was in typically hideous shape for a black Infiniti.

A lot of wetsanding

Lexus IS300, paint was in decent shape and was relatively soft. It was so slammed I could hardly get it into my garage!

Hey look, an IS300 - this one was in much worse shape. 2 years older a lot more km.

Porsche 911 Turbo, this was needed some work - the paint was actually really nice to work with though, soft but not so soft it marred.

'07 Aston Martin V8 Vantage. The paint on this car was softer than my Infiniti - so really, really soft. Sort of a pain in the *** really. It had under 200km, it had been washed (poorly) by someone else as you can see.

(yes, 106 on a black pad took out that marring; it was that soft).

Funny story. Here in Toronto people are sort of, uh, well they keep to themselves. So I am outside with this Vantage checking it out and I've got the 911 Turbo behind it. I swear, girls were appearing as if by magic...people were rolling down their windows to ask me about the Vantage. It's quite striking.

I'd have loved to have taken outside pics, but it was dark when I was done (gets dark at 4:30 now, boo).

2002 VW Jetta... owner just bought it and it was pretty rough. Hard paint too.

2007 BMW 335i sedan; pretty much brand new. Almost a new car prep; there was still some shipping tape on it.

Excellent job as usual. With you and Sean not posting, the click n' brag forum was getting a little dry, nice to see that you spiced it up a bit. Really liking the Z5 pro? It seems that you use a lot of it.

With winter coming (or here, for that matter), I'm pretty much using sealants only; so generally that means Z5 pro on dark colors and Z2 pro or AJ/AJT on lighter colors. I still occasionally use FMJ and EX too, but not nearly as much. I get a lot of "requests" for Zaino. :)

I, too, find myself guzzling up Collinite 845 in preparation for winter. Not real happy with it's appearance on black, though(too soft and dark), and seeing as I do mostly black cars, I am looking to pick up something else(minus Souveran, I really prefer sealants on black anyways). It looks like Zaino will fit the bill nicely.

LOVELY! I missed all your writeups and pics Picus! Dont let us hang like that! lol Great turnround on all of them. Seems like you love those black vehicles. They certainly make out for good before/afters! On the Jetta did you use the wool pad for the whole vehicle or certain areas?

Heh, they must have built in girl magnets ;)

Nice details, nice cars. What a transformation on the Jetta!

Absolutely first rate work. Without a doubt you are one of the best detailers in north America. Really superb swirl removal! :bow

All cars look great but the recovery on the G35 and the VW are nothing short of spectacular! I am also loving the look of that E90 with Z5 topped with AJT, looks so liquid!

Horray! Picus is finally back on!

I still cannot put my finger on something... whether your work is better, or your photography!

:shocked

PS. When can I see your 3-coupe?:grinno:
