Battery Cable

ok hi guys snew to the site having a little trouble just bought a 1991 4x4 blazer...oldie but a goodie! ok so the question im asking is about my battery cable do i need to follow the cable all the way down to replace the postive cable or can i snip it somewhere in between and just splice it in between...some help on this would be nice since i would like to be able to get it into a good looking machine.....thanks

How do you intened to splice the cable? Not a good idea.

It isn't worth splicing. It goes from your battery to either a relay or the starter. 4-5 feet most.

I would just replace the entire section. Splicing can be done but it is not usually pretty; a western union type splice can work but it should then be soldered and thoroughly protected against corrosion. I'd use a nice heavy gauge wire like #2awg or something that can handle some juice!
