Hey Paul S. Welcome to the Forum. I'm not here much, but I've been around enough to know that pads are one of those issues, and there are many, where it's impossible to find any definitive consensus. I posted a similar entry this morning. From what I learned this morning, and it wasn't much,
1. Lake Country's 5.5 inch CCS pads work better than larger pads. They allow the machine to work more efficiently.
2. Sonus pads work great.
3. The DAS pads are stiff and not as effective as others.
I've actually used DAS pads for over a year and a half. I thought they were ok, but they've worn out and I'm going for something new. I bought the Lake Country CCS 5.5s. I'll be posting the results of my work some time next month probably. It's time for that Spring prep heading into summer. Here's my plan for what to use in the LC CCS pads.
Morning of Day 1: Sonus SFX-1, 2, & 3 to remove last year's layers of KSG.
Ultima Paint Prep Plus (UPPP helps the UPGP to bond to the paint)
Ultima Paint Guard Plus (UPGP) - by hand
Morning of Day 2
Second layer of Ultima Paint Guard Plus - by hand
Evening of Day 2
(UPGP)Danase Wet Glaze x 2
Third layer of Ultima Paint Guard Plus - by hand
Morning of Day 3
Fourth layer of Ultima Paint Guard Plus - by hand
I'll post pics of my results when I'm done.
