Baked-on Bumper Magnet

Working on dark blue SUV ('04 Honda Pilot). There used to be a bumper magnet but a combination of the heat from the sun and dark paint caused a piece of the magnet to melt on.

I've tried xenit, but I don't want to get too aggressive with scraping or scrubbing and risk taking the finish underneath off.

Any ideas?

I can't see your pics but can you get behind it with fishing line or dental floss and saw it off?

Unfortunately, no. It's been left alone for so long, the magnet has really melded with the finish. (Sorry about the pictures, I'm new to forum posting and haven't quite figured it out.)

Ah, that's a great idea! I'll give that a shot. Thank you!
