Bacteria inside a car

Stumbled upon this article. Reminded me of a study years ago from Oxford University, IIRC, that said a car steering wheel harbored more bacteria than a public toilet.

Learn where the top bacterial hot spots are in your car

Here's a thought. Make interior components easier to remove or access.

Great selling point, and it makes me wonder about how effective some of the common interior cleaners (Meg's APC+, OPC, etc.) are at killing bacteria. Would love to see this test done on a car before and after a detail to demonstrate the benefits.

OPC is basic. Most pathogenic bacteria prefer and thrive in acidic conditions. Also, MF towels have been shown to be able to pick up bacteria within their fibers, so wiping down with MF towels actually will help that. :)

I love when people compare things to a public toilet. Quantity of bacteria, sure... but there is also the type of bacteria. I'll lick my steering wheel clean before I touch a public toilet.

One of the biggest reasons I have and use a commercial vapor steamer for such tasks... no question the bacteria is dead and gone with that approach!

Stuff like this is why I offer the DrivePur system. It is extremely hard and tedious to completely sanitize a vehicle otherwise.
